WOW!!!! That's how it's supposed to be done............ with vigor and pride! No hip-hop, no riffs, no country twang, no forgotten lyrics... just good old American pride.

Awesome!! I had chills the entire time.

The flag and the song dont give me the chills (sorry :(). What does give me the chills (in a good way) is how patriotic Americans are. I cant think of any country (with the possible exception of Israel) which has such a patriotic public. Its beyond my understanding how people can be so united and so patriotic, especially given the size of America and how diverse the country is. I think its great.

(Thats all a compliment, not a criticism)

Mind you, they could have found someone that can actually sing... I dont think that guy did the song the justice it deserves.

Then you haven't heard some of the hip-hop, country, and pop stars try to sing it. They forget the lyrics and add their own "interpretation" of the song. The PRIDE that this man sang it with is what struck me the most. The emotion and passion in his voice and face was apparent.

And thanks for the compliment................ I always kind of assumed patriotism was stroing in each and every country.

Not on the same level as America. Not in my experience anyway. In the UK, there are obviously lots of people very proud to be British, but there isnt the same level of 'fanatacism' (for want of a better word). The people arent quite as 'into it' as Americans seem to be.

I think I heard Mariah Carey sing the anthem one time. That was fun  :-[

The national motto: E pluribus unum

Many times it seems that we forget the wisdom there, but then again, in the words of Winston Churchill who would have been American, as he once said to a joint session of the Congress, had his Father been American and his mother British, rather than the other way around, but noting the problem of our form of government, "It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried."  Gotta love old Winnie!

Miss carrying the Flag at Soldier Field for the home openers (1999, 2000, and 2001).

The guy did a great job on a VERY difficult song.....................I have always thought that GOD BLESS AMERICA should have been out anthem but it isn't so all the respect for the STAR SPANGLED BANNER.   I also believe that the patriotism shown SHOULD be shown for an exceptional nation and people!!!!   The best there is.
