Whooa, this is a tough bunch of guys that post on this forum!  I imagined taking lemon juice and rubbing it on a freshly shaved head and my eyes began to tear up at the thought.  Of course I am not sure if just about anything you use would do that

I live in Alaska where the mosquito is the state bird, and I was wondering the same question.  I too like the idea of the natural approach but unfortunately in my experience deet is the only thing that will work the deter mosquitoes.   

I did try Burt's Bees mosquito repellent last summer fishing and it works pretty good.

i heard somewhere that eating a lot of garlic helps as well. mosquitoes/vampires. who knows.
