electric razors vs. regular razors?

does anyone know if electric razors work better then regular razors on your head? i was wondering if was worth buying one or just stick to a regular razor.

I think the general opinion is that they are good for when you don't have the time for a blade shave, but I doubt that any would get as close as a blade.

I have a Panasonic Linear (ES8243K) that I got a couple of years ago. It shaves better than any electric I've ever had and gives a "close to" a blade shave. I say close to because although the Pan does a great job when I'm in a hurry or am allowing cuts to heal it does not quite compare to my HeadBlade or my M5.

You'll never get as close as a blade shave, imo.
