On and off
« on: March 18, 2011, 07:47:59 AM »
Hi all,

I am going back and forward between growing my hair out to a buzz cut and then shaving it off again. Same applies to the beard. I can't stick to a style any one experience the same? Probably I like to see the contrast.

I know how you feel ...in my 6 weeks I've trimmed the beard down, gone to a coat, then clean shaven and then back to the beard.  Can't quite settle on the look though I seem most content with the full beard kept at a short length.  Will probably go clean shaven for the summer and then the goat in mid fall.  And by the holidays let the beard fill back in.  After years of looking the same on a predictable basis I'm enjoying mixing things up a bit.

And if you're taking votes = I say go with the look in your avatar.   Which reminds me, I need a new one, the clean shaven look only lasted a few days.

Hey 0, you may as well enjoy it. At least you have the options for different looks.
I do this myself, and a lot has to do with the time of year. I currently am in the close beard stage since I just trimmed it down tight last week. I've had a beard pretty much all Winter, since about November. Now as it starts to warm up here, the beard will be coming off and I'll be back to a goatee.
Enjoy the different styles and don't worry about it.

Hi 0mm,

unfortunately I am not able to view the picture.

But I used to be a "sometimer" at first too ... with that I mean, that I was going back and forth between beeing smooth and having a few mm.

Eventually I became a "baldaholic", addicted to the feel and enjoying the look as well.

Now I only get to have stubble when I don't have the time or when I am lazy for a few days.

Regards
Baldaholic

I'd say keep your bald head and your small beard. It's by far the best combination. I think. Your pic on Flickr, I don't think anybody can see it. It says it's private. Nonetheless, you look very handsome on your profile picture. Keep it smooth and save the beard! O0

Hey guys! I am back to the clipper shaved head again. Buzzed it shorter and shorter over the last couple of weeks. First 6mm, than 3mm and now without attachment with my Remington Short Cut Clipper. Grew it out since I shaved it completely at the beginning of this year. Now I am back with plans to keep it (really) short this time (hope I am able to keep this promise).

Regards,

Looks like the flickr picture is set to private, so we can't see it.

Buzzing with no guard feels very nice, but you have to do it frequently to keep the very short length.

I went through the same sequence you did.  #3, then #2, then #1, then no guard.  Whoohoo! That's a nice buzz all the way down to no guard!  As my buddy says, guards are for sissies!  Feels good.  Looks sharp!
