First week is over!

Today marks the end of my first 7 days as a sly guy!  Only 23 more days to go to meet the 30-day challenge.  Tomorrow I return to work and get to reveal the new me!  I'm sure it's going to shock a few people who are only used to seeing me in ball caps but I'm ready to reveal my bald head now that I have taken control of my MPB after all these years.

My reliance on ball caps was likely very similar to some guys use of hair pieces.  I never left the house without one and it often interfered with some of the activities that I participated in since I didn't want to remove my cap if I was around people I knew.  Stupid, since they had to know I was bald anyways.  I can quit lying to myself now and be happier and less self-consciencous than I have been in years.  I am so glad I found this website and hope that I can contribute and help others.

I'll let you know how the big "reveal" goes tomorrow!  Current goal is to finish the 30-day challenge and then work towards my first anniversary!  To those of you that are losing your hair or have been trying to disguise your MPB with a hair piece of a ball-cap, give some serious thought to just shaving it all off!  If I could do it, you can too!

Good luck tomorrow at work.  Expect a range of reactions and questions about how often you have to shave, what it feels like, etc.  After a few days, your sly look will be the norm for every one.

Did you post a photo here yet? Did you take a before and after? 

Congrat's on the success. I am at 2 weeks 1 day. LOVE IT!!! I won't ever have hair again and if there was a way to afford perm. removal, I would do it in a minute...

Daven, I"m a bit of a photo-phobic so no photos yet.  Hopefully, the confidence I gain from shaving my head will spill over into that area of my life and I'll enjoy getting my photophraph taken.

I've read your posts and admire your attitude regarding your battle with Multiple Scerosis.  Keep working with your neurologist and don't be afraid to try some of the newer treatment options that are being developed.  Hopefully one of these days, they will find the right combination of drugs that will if nothing else, at least halt the progression of your disease.  I wish you the bestin that regards as nobody should have to live in pain!

I was the opposite.  Since I went sly (only 2 days ago), I'm ok with my picture being taken.  I took my picture right after I shaved and posted it on this site for the world to see.  I was too self concious with the MPB before and hated to have my picture taken for fear it got the wrong angle.
