Sly Endangered by Shadow

Figured I'd update. Still sly. Sticking with it for at least the rest of the summer. (Been a couple of months so far.) I still like it a lot. Not so keen on the shadow, but y'all convinced me that I'm more aware of it than anyone else (well, except my wife, but what can ya do?).

i too have been struggling with the shadow problem. its really the only thing that i dislike about the bald look right now. it really exposes my MPB and i'm 25 so obviously i dont want to have my issue on full blast but all i can do is live with it and remain confident.

yesterday i read the thread about the Jergens skin cream that adds a shade or two to your skin and im thinking of testing out a bottle of that since i cant get the color of my forehead and lower part of scalp to mesh fully with the back of my head.

i have definitely noticed how the shadow varies in different lighting but i wont help that influence my decision since there are plenty of women that look decent in dim lighting and terrible otherwise. i'd like to conquer all lighting situations so to speak lol.

My hair is gray-white and the shadow is less visible  - but it is there  - - -and we are our own worst critics   There is nothing like a shaved BALD HEAD - - -

been in the shadow bugging me boat lately as well. cursid dark hair on pale skin! tanning does help out but wish it could maintain.

i use headblade with sensors/C.O. Bigelow, been through different trials of prep and shave creams thanks to the greatness of this site. was thinking about trying out Fusion just to see if results differ.
 
and it's true that aside from it bugging me when catching it in certain lighting/mirrors/photographs people dont notice USUALLY but every once in a while a friend or someone makes a comment like "looks like you can still grow hair on the sides" or like this very weekend a friend said "You can really make out the outline of your hair." even followed up by telling me I needs a shave when I'd just had one only a few hours before 

eh, thinking about going back to no clip shave cos dark mpb shadow kinda defaults purpose of slyness in my case. i did get over the shadow thing for awhile but quick growth and little annoying comments kills it fo me..... god, what a baby

i agree hearing comments from people dont make it easier. i honestly had no idea i was even balding for years until i started to notice the comments building up and they took their toll. 

my hair would grow out alot more than i'd let it grow a month or so ago but then people would guess that i was in my mid 30s when im actually mid20s and i chose to shave it all off...ive yet to get any real feedback on it but im sure if i get multiple comments on my shadow it would irk me some as well but what can ya do?

Shadow is a strange sensation.  By in large I rarely think about it as a personal matter but I do notice other sly guys’ shadows.   I last notice mine several weeks ago on one of the last really nice days here when the temperature was in the high 60’s or low 70’s and very low humidity.  It was so nice that after lunch I crossed Canal Street and walked into the Quarter on Royal Street ultimately winding up at the River by Jackson Square.  Then as I started back down Royal by all the antique shops, I caught a glimpse of myself in the windows—I saw my shadow clearly illuminated in the window.  All the way down Royal I kept looking and seeing that I had a shadow that really was very apparent in the lighting at the time.  Weird sensation, but also a satisfaction that it was a shadow not a hairy fringe.  I can live with the shadow, I really can’t do the fringe thing.  So, yes,  I have a shadow but it’s not on my radar screen 99% of the time.  A fringe would drive me nuts—and I’m always wondering when I see guys who have them why they tolerate it.  It’s different strokes for different folks—and this guy’s sly.

So would Hydrogen Peroxide work? And for how long? It would be OK to use it once every 2-3-4 weeks.
Does the bleaching effect penetrate for that 4-5mm of hair under the surface of the skin?

It might sound crazy to go all the way to bleaching if this does actually work but i'm just 23 and as i shave my head, the top is growing so thin and so slow that it's just not visible at all. That makes me a shadow of a horse shoe at the age of 23. I wouldn't mind after 35, but if Hydrogen Peroxide works I might give it a try.

I'm still concerned about health issues of using it constantly on a regular basis. Don't wanna be the next Jacko

From my experience, hydrogen peroxide, at least the 3% solution that I use, has had little or no effect on the shadow.  I use it every day as an astringent immediately after shaving and the ice cube.  The only thing it will bleach, and I'm careful about this, is if it gets on colored bath towels and linens. 
I and many others, have said this before--for the most part shadow is something that only we sly guys notice--the rest of the world, balding but keeping their Bozo rings and the  hirsute, really don't notice.  They're too impressed with the great look of a cleanly shaved dome.

Just think for a minute, would you prefer to have a shadow--freshly shaved and smooth or the alternative?  These guys decided against the shaved shadow, but they had a business interest to look this way.  Is this what you really want?  It is the alternative to shadow.

1.  It feels good, it "closes the pores" and cleans and minimizes the chance of any irritation, but mostly it feels good.
2.Right after rinsing off any left over shave creme, before the aftershave balm & SUNSCREEN!

I've been to the dermatologist with the pimples and yes actually the darn baby oil did that... What's interesting is that after discussing what scrub / face wash / astringent lotion I usually use, the dermatologist said that I SHOULD NOT use any astringent as if the pores close up you'll get it clogged eventually here and there so it's just best to wash it and forget any astringent so it can naturally breathe more and give out the natural oils more easily.

So i'm kind of confused because everyone's talking about using astringents and closing the pores in threads but the dermatologist actually said to do the opposite.
Well then I guess it'll take a few years to get some experience of how's the best for my own noggin
