Avoiding the big 4-0
« on: April 11, 2011, 07:35:52 PM »
With less than a month to go, I'm rapidly approaching panic mode.  I had an eye exam on Friday and found out I need reading glasses.  >:(    The hairline continues its northern retreat, and this morning I found a hair growing out of my left ear and a new crease across my forehead.  I feel like someone slipped me a dose of Instant Old Man.  How does anyone ever manage to stay 35?  Up until a couple of months ago it didn't seem like an impossible prospect.   I'm seriously getting depressed over this.   :-[

At this point I think that professional involvement is needed.

Get over it: it's natural (and inevitable).  As Sinatra would say, 'That's life...'
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?

How does anyone ever manage to stay 35?

Have you ever heard of Kurt Cobain? He found a way to stay 27.

Seriously, brother, I think the Bear hit it on the head.....get some help. Because you are either in here trollin' or you are getting seriously close to the edge.

Your answer is in a book, The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde.

I've worn glasses since 4th grade, so you shouldn't panic because you need glasses.  Turning 40 is only a big deal if you make it a big deal.  I'm well past 40 and don't consider myself "old".  Start looking forward to life instead of worrying about what the calendar says.

this morning I found a hair growing out of my left ear

I don't think it's the glasses that are bothering JesseN. $h!t, Jesse, I have more hair growing out of my ears than most of the guys here have on their backs!

I know a guy with incredible thick ear hair. Even in the summer he looks like he is wearing earmuffs. Hmm maybe an ear hair comb over would not be so bad ?

Wise words, mango!

There's only one way to avoid aging and it really really sucks.
