Well after watching mantic59's vids, I've decided it's time to go with the safety razor.  I know, I know, it takes more skill than with cartridge razors, but after watching him explain how it'll reduce razor burn, I have to go for that.

Besides apart from the initial cost of a quality safety razor, the blades themselves are dirt cheap, even the top brand ones like Derby, etc.  I just can't keep up with the cost of fusion cartridges.

I am a new memeber, but have have found this site quite helpful in the past. In the past I have been plagued with bumps and acne myself. My skin is sensitive. I've been shaving my head for a couple years now. I've tried the various razors(Mach 3 and Fusion) and different topical products from Matte for Men, Headslick, Bald Style, Jack Black and etc. Chasing the ultimate head shave.  Recently, I've been using a product produced by a company called King of Shaves(KOS). Originally, I came across this company by trying a shaving gel sold through Target. KOS has merged with Remington to distribute their products here in the US. It is a company headquarted in the UK. By far, the best head shave I have had. Since using these products the bumps on my neck have disappeared. My skin is smooth and soft. Specifically, after a hot shower I wash with the KOS Deep Pore Cleansing Facewash. Then I use the KOS Kinexium Shave Oil. This is the best product I have used on my head. The key is when done shaving to do nothing buy dry your head and leave the oil to continue to lubricate your scalp and neck. Lastly, I use the KOS moisturiser with SPF8 on my head, neck and face. They do have razors as well. Personally, I really like these. The handle is much longer than other razors and makes shaving the back of the head and neck very easy. I've included the site for those interested. The best thing is these products are very reasonable. This is a great site and I appreciate all those that have shared their experiences and knowledge.

Well after watching mantic59's vids, I've decided it's time to go with the safety razor.

Mantic's videos are exactly what I was going to suggest. When I began wet-shaving, his videos and the guys over at Badger and Blade were tremendous help. I'm still a regular at BadgerandBlade for DE advice, but head-shaving really isn't their thing over there. You've come to a great site, this has been my best help on the internet. As to what DE to get...do a little research for what you'd think is best for you, but as a fellow sensitive skin guy...I stick with some of the older Gillette razors. So far, a DE hasn't played nicely with my dome...but I have a Gillette Tech that I haven't tried yet. :) Good luck, keep at it!

Also don't get too too crazy about feeling a little hair when you rub your had over your head---I know it dirves us crazy but the truth is most people looking at us can't tell the difference--and if you get too hubg up on that PERFECT shave you'll end up with more irritation--which can be noticed!
