I just heard that there is a HUGE lawsuit against the makers of Propecia now. I'll try to find the link.

more likely it will get a label change that loss of libido and impotence could be irreversible. That labeling exists in Europe. The drug is a potent anti androgen by blocking formation of DHT. DHT is potent androgen responsible for many of male sex functions. Current labeling clearly states loss of libido etc as a side effect. Not at all unexpected. The drug was developed initial for treatment of BPH, a more serious problem than hair loss which is mostly a cosmetic issue. Treatment for BHP is at a higher dose. Anyone taking this drug for hair and not expecting change in sexual function is deluding themselves. Unfortunately marketing people have pushed hair loss prevention - taking advantage of male vanity.

Propecia is poison indeed.
When I first started losing my hair, I asked my doctor if it could be because of poor diet, lack of exercise or something of the like. He took one look at my scalp and told me I had male pattern baldness. He then, in a very nonchalant manner, wrote a prescription for propecia and told me I could use rogaine at the same time. After weeks of deliberating, I gave the propecia a shot. Within days I lost my sex drive, couldn't reach any kind of sexual climax, and generally felt not myself. I stopped taking it immediately. The effects persisted for two weeks. If you go to propeciasideeffects.com and look at the forums you will find stories of guys who have had permanent damage done. Many of them have been spending years of their life trying to find an answer or a solution. It is amazing to me that my doctor could so calmly recommend this medication. But then again, there is a lot of ugliness that goes on regarding health care and the pharmaceutical industry. I just feel lucky that I found a different approach to dealing with my hair loss and I didn't have lasting side effects. Others have not been as lucky...

I have taken Propecia for at least 10 years. I quit taking Propecia on July 5 and I am feeling good about quitting now just trying to get the courage to go sly. I have several hair transplant scars that I am not sure about. Next stop is the barber's shop to go significantly shorter than before.

Robert249, Just do it. Go for a shaved head! There are a lot of guys out there with shaved, bald or buzzed heads. They look really good. So manly. It's time to do it.
