There's no need to feel sorry for him. Early onset MPB is not something that anybody wants to experience, but it's hardly the end of the world. I'm sure that, like most people, qwert55 will come to terms with it and go on to live a happy and productive life.
You're clearly underestimating the effect of early MPB on a "not-alpha-male" person. It can be devastating even later than when your 20 yrs old. Cure for MPB would make someone very f**king rich let me tell you that... baldies would be queuing to get that the day it would come out.

It's something that we have to learn to live with. Crying in one's beer about something that can't be changed isn't productive. And I daresay that even if there was a "cure", people who feel their lives are ruined by MPB would quickly find something else to be unhappy about.
