Coping with the tragedy of fading youth
« on: April 16, 2011, 04:47:38 PM »
The past couple of weeks have been really rough ones for me, with Armageddon (aka May 1) now less than two weeks away. The GF has been pushing for me to get a complete makeover.  The mane has continued to reced and thin. She wants me to shave it clean. It could happen as soon as tomorrow. I'm stil apprehensive about it but she thinks it will be sexy and I know I can only resist for so long. I've agreed to get both my ears pierced. She is taking me earring shopping tomorrow for some youthful looking earrings which hopefully will offset the salt and pepper beard because I still haven't found a solution that will give me more pepper and less salt. I just know that once the ears are pierced I'll be coming home with a bald head and the beard shaved down to a goatee. I'm just afraid that it will make me look very 40.

I realize that some of you just don't understand what I'm going through but all my life I've been something of a pretty boy and its hard to see all of that coming to an end. The GF thinks the bald head and salt and pepper goatee will be very distinguished looking.  So I guess next I will have to start drinking brandy and smoking cigars and the transformtion to old man will be complete.

Dude, you're just going to need to come to grips with the fact that time marches on and you are never going to get any younger.

You can either be unhappy about it for the rest of your life, or realize that that's just the reality that every human being needs to deal with and just get on with your life.

Jesse, embrace the fact that your gal wants you sly and thinks that you would be distinguished looking with the salt and pepper goatee!  Really, you've got it made!  Having some gray doesn't meant you still can't be hip and trendy!  It is all about what is going on inside your brain!

Wow! Trying to reason with you is like B@n%, in that it feels so good to stop.....and THAT is exactly what I think I'm gonna do.

I think that I will start doing likewise with this individual.  We have all given him sound advice.  If he is for real and doesn't take our advice or get professional help, then I would say that the ball is in his court.  Sound almost like a poster from long ago named Dog 20!

I have to agree with the guys.  40 is just a number.  So go shave your head and hold it high.  Especially that your GF wants you to.  Too much DRAMA  :D
