In speaking with HR reps and interviewers when I was looking for a new job a few months ago, many of them appreciated the shaved head because it looked cleaner. When I explained to a few who asked why I shaved (because I had aggressive MPB) they said it seemed like instead of trying to hide an issue, I took control of it, which made them think higher of me. All I could think when they said this was "I just didnt want to be ugly anymore!"  :*))

Good luck with the hunt!

Here's something to think about for those of you who think that the sly look is frowned upon in professional environments.  I went to a happy hour after work last Friday evening for a co-worker who was leaving.  Our chief accounting officer, a 40-something very prim and proper type lady -- whom many of us find somewhat intimidating -- stopped by to wish the guest of honor well.  With her she brought her new boyfriend who was sporting a zero-guard buzzed head. Not the sort of guy that I would have thought would have been her type at all.

My point is: in light of this, how likely do you think it is that this woman would be dismissive of a qualified job applicant just because he had a shaved head?
