hey guys, shaving only with the grain, does this make the shadow more visible,or just feel rough going 1 way ?? Seems not much difference to me,other then it will be rough 1 way ??
First with and then against. Huge difference. Shave with and run your hand against the grain. Then shave against the grain and rub your hand against the grain. HUGE difference!
I find that going with the grain leaves a much stronger shadow and a rougher scalp.
What I've settled on in my short time sly is to go against the grain for daily shaves. And then when I'm going out someplace important (date, etc) I shave wiht the grain on the first pass and then re-lather for an against the grain scrape. The slick scalp and shine is incredible when I do this.

I know its huge for 'feel' but what about the shadow showing ??
The less you can feel, the less there is to cause a shadow.

Thanks sail, makes sense...my only prob is the shadow and spray tan..or self tanning products,I tried like 4 kinds, got the closest shave Ya can,and seems the tanning products make my shadow darker, lol.
Im from RI also...
I've found the Jergen's Natural Glow to be decent - you just need to do your whole head with it in a fairly even coat. And make sure you wash your hands very well afterwards.

I got the mouse kind Jergens, seems works good, but seems resistant over my shadow ! odd..lol I shave real good smooth as silk, let dry, then apply...I got no color change but rest of head is very dark ?? any idea ?
not really but I'm guessing that where the shadow is heaviest the skin was palest to begin with (since the shade was denser) and it will take longer to show a tan. you might try the Jergens Express on jus the shadow area and the regular stuff elsewhere though you would need to be very careful to keep color even.
