... definitely not of silence.
I'm delighted when the sound of my razor plowing through the day's growth on my scalp resonates in my brain. Even without looking I can tell whether I'm shaving "on track" or "missing the mark."
There are so many subtle components of the shaving experience. The non-Sly have no idea what they are missing.
@FrontierGuy:
I definitely agree with you

and I'm only "Learning the way of Sly"

I also love the sound of my Headblade or my DE sheering off a day’s growth. I also enjoy feeling for any missed out stubble and making sure my dome is 100% smooth. It’s funny how some men say they "hate" shaving. I enjoy shaving; it’s a part of my daily routine as much as eating lunch is. A good shave makes me feel energized and ready to face the world.
I totally agree with all of the postings on this. I too look forward to the daily head shave and love the feelings and sounds of it. You really know you are getting smooth when you notice the sound is less. It is now a great feeling on day 74 and part of my routine for sure.
In a way, the sounds and the shave are kind of relaxing.
The sound of a Double Edge sheering my face is also a "classic" sound. I remember watching my grandfather shave as a little boy. I could hear the rasping sound from where I was standing at the door way of his bathroom.
It's so hard to explain "the sound" to someone who has never shaved their head. It echoes inside your head as the razor scrapes by. And yes, there's something comforting when you pass the razor over the same spot again and the sound changes from a scratching sound to s softer but still unique sound that nobody but you can hear.
And, I've said on other threads that barber shop shaves never get as close as I get shaving myself, but "the sound" is even better when a barber is running a straight edge over your head in short firm strokes.
