I have 4  favorite genre's

Rock, Jazz, & Folk & Blues

Rock bands/ Musicians Favs: The Who, Led Zeppelin, & Frank Zappa, CSNY, Beatles, Tom Petty

Jazz: John McLaughlin, Wynton Marsalis, Pat Methany, The Rippingtons, Weather Report

Folk: Richard Thompson, Richard Shindell, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLaughlin

Blues: BB KIng, Eric Clapton, Keb Mo

I could go on and on.

Then again you could go to my son's site, scroll down to the bottom of the page and listen to my very favorite musician...my son Rob. He has usually 5-6 of his current songs loaded and has written and recorded 12-15 songs so far.

IMO you must pay some sort of homage to bands like Black Sabbath, Dio, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and the first 4 Metallicas are already factored in as well. Im also gonna throw in Rush and Thin Lizzy because I can. Here are some of my favorites.

I listen to a lot of different genres of music so its hard to compare them all.

Christian Rock (Alternative)- Rush of Fools or Brandon Heath
Christian Rock- Thousand Foot Krutch
Country- Rascal Flatts (Kenney Chesney is a close second)
Rock- Coldplay (Paramore is a close second)
Rock (Alternative)- Jack Johnson
