I've gotta try some of these things mentioned here.
I do love a good shine, and I've tried HeadLube (glossy) before, but I really didn't like the greasy feeling it left on my noggin, so I didn't try anything else after that. It could have been because I have naturally oily skin.... who knows?

Maybe one of these other methods will work better for me. Thanks for the tips, gentlemen!  O0

I'm about 20 minutes into my first ever use of this stuff, but Jojoba Oil might work.  It's supposed to be great for the health of skin, and since oily scalps tend to shin the best then I would think applying this oil would help increase your shine.

It's a plant-based oil but apparently it's extremely close to the oil naturally found produced by the skin.  Its application is also supposed to cause a reduction in your natural oil production because your skin realizes it does not need to produce as much.  It's supposed to get absorbed into the skin and hair fairly well too.

I bought it to make my goatee easier to manage since I'm keeping it longer than I normally do, but I decided to apply it to the rest of my head because of the other benefits I read about.

Tried some 'Boots Baby Oil Gel ' with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E today.

Head looks and feels like glass.

Only downside is that it feels sticky/ greasy.

After a good shower when I have shaved my head, I have used some fruit of the earth aloe vera gel which really sooths the head. I have also used some headblade glossy lube followed by some baby oil gel which really gives it a good shine. I rub it in a bit to get away from the oily feeling. A couple of minutes with a hair dryer really helps take away the oily feeling. It also feels good especially when I am heading out into the cold weather.

Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Just started using Headlube glossy. Still use a bit of aloe vera gel first - nice and soothing, then the Headlube glossy. Great result. Real good shine and feels nice and smooth. Love it. Lots of compliments from the ladies. Great boost for a 76-year-old guy !

Seahawk:

You look a lot younger than 76.  You are proof that my older headshaving friend (he's 77) is telling the truth.  He told me that shaving my head would make me look 15 years younger.  So I shaved my head.  I'm not sure if I look 48 again, but you could easily pass for 60.

Thanks Jimbo. Certainly don't feel old. Pretty fit - lots of outdoor activities. Sailing season starts soon - then I'm out on my boat most weeks. Going to need some good sun protection for when I'm not wearing a hat. Had lost a lot of hair - went sly a few weeks ago and shaved of what was left. Great feeling. O0

I've had good results with both the Fruit of teh Earth Aloe Vera and the Headlube Glossy.

I think the Headlube Glossy is shinner but you do get that sticky feeling.
