Greasy Head

Hey I seem to have a greasy scalp alot, especially towards the end of the day. It makes it not feel as good rubbing my hand across it. So was wondering if anyone had anything they use to combat that, and make it baby-butt smooth.

I have the exact same problem my head is fine during the day, but not at night. I bought some some clean and clear shine control stuff, but it does nothing. I hope someone can help us both out.

1. Buy yourself some Thayers Witch Hazel. There are a couple of "flavors", but I really like the Aloe Vera version.
2. Buy a pack of 1 quart zip lock bags.
3. Buy a pack of Soft Cloths (unscented) or Cottony Cloths (unscented) or any hypoallergenic, alcohol-free baby wipes.
4. Stuff a handful of the cloths into a ziplock bag
5. Pour some of the Witch Hazel into the bag until the cloths have been fairly saturated, but not dripping everywhere.
6. Zip up the bag and pop it into your backpack/briefcase/glove compartment/pocket.
7. When you feel a bit on the oily side, or you're blinding innocent bystanders with your overly-gleamy dome, grab a cloth and wipe your head.
No only is this totally refreshing, it will also solve the oily buildup, and clean your skin at the same time (without adding any more pollutants or chemicals).

Well, maybe I'm missing something, but without anything to stop me I often wash my dome when it's feeling "greasy" particularly when I get home at night from work. It feels good. And, I sometimes give it another wash before bed. It's not like it's going to mess up anything, is it?

No worries, Kenny. Walmart carries Aaron Brands Astringent Witch Hazel. This brand has a higher alcohol content than Thayers (14% vs 10%) which COULD have a slightly drying effect on your scalp. But I don't know for sure. I'm sure it's cheaper than Thayers, so give it a shot and post up your results.
OR ... order Thayers Witch Hazel here:

Products I have used to control/eliminate greasy scalp build-up during the day:
First and foremost:
Witch Hazel
I also find that
OLD SPICE
Face and Body Wash
greatly
ELIMINATES
the gradual greasy build-up that normally occurrs during the day!
Leaves behind a non-greasy shine that will last all day! During the day, if I ever feel the need to refresh (or rewash) - especially@ the firehouse - a little dab of O.S, a quick rinse and I am good to go!!
Your scalp will smell great,
but
NOT
with an over-powering
Old Spice
scent.
In fact, the
scent
is extremely
light
!
Best of all, it can be found just about
ANYWHERE
!!
Another good product I like that helps control greasy build-up is a tube shave cream from a product line I found@
Rite-Aid
. It's the line of shaving products from
THE REAL SHAVING COMPANY
.
Hope this helps somewhat!
Price Rank:
1)
Witch Hazel
-
most cost effective
for getting the job done.
2)
OSF&BW
- a
great alternative
to #1.
3)
TRSC
- a little pricey - (
$5
-
$7)
for a little over 4oz (comes in a tube)
- Cap'n Noodles -
