Remember to thank a Vet today or say a little prayer of thanks to those who have paid the ultimate price. "All gave some, some gave all".

Eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the end of the war to end all wars. Armistice Day, with the signature red poppies, wasn't the end of war and since that day 92 years ago there hasn't been a moment of total peace on this earth. For the hundreds of thousands killed and maimed we barely stop, only a perfunctory moment really for most. Very sad.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Field.
Lt. Col John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)

Ya know, about all a vet or an active duty person really needs to make their day is a "Thanks for your service", and a handshake.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

Thank you to all of the Veterans who have fought, who have served, to those who have given all, and to the families of fallen soldiers.
My heartfelt gratitude and appreciation goes out to you, thank you for giving so much of yourselves so that I can live free.

Time to get this thread going again...
Blessed Veterans Day to all that have gone before us...
...for those who are serving now...
...for those who are our future...
...and mostly, to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice!!!
