I refuse to let anyone tell me I need to be politically correct, I  instead speak my mind on the things i feel strongly about. ( This has always been my motto).

I refuse to let that damn woodpecker bother me!  :x!

On a slightly more serious note, my favorite one has always been:

I refuse to grow up!

I am free of trying to cover the gray, I am free of worrying about the stupid look of my scalp through my hair no matter how much I had on top, I am free of $10.00 haircuts that sucked anyway. I am free of hair spray, hair jell, and all of that other crap. I am free to look younger than I did with hair. I am free to love the fact that I made this decision.

I am free!

You gotta love freedom....it's the only thing that really matters :-) O0
The only thing I know for sure, is that I don't know anything for sure.

I am fine just the way I AM. I realize that when others judge they are showing their own innner need to "judge and be right". I choose the way of peace and kindness......................UNLESS you mess with my wife or kid.....then it's ON!
Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.

(Note: Vashs SLY affirmations... Read these out loud, possibly while looking into a mirror)

I refuse to be told what is or is not universally attractive.
I will instead determine for myself what I will look like and seek out others who will accept, appreciate and love me, as me, for me.

I refuse to be SOLD attractiveness.
I will instead choose the products and services that suit my purposes and work well for me.

I refuse to be shamed or guilted by the media into changing my looks.
I will instead find the body, hair, clothing style that best suits me and makes me most comfortable.

I refuse to cling to or chase my inevitably fading youth.
I will instead embrace my age and enjoy the wisdom each year brings.

I refuse to be made uncomfortable by other people.
I will instead luxuriate in the comfort I find within my own skin and will enjoy and draw confidence from the frustration my comfort causes those who would change me.

I refuse to let the superficial judgments of others affect me.
I will instead instead draw confidence from my knowledge of myself and show that to others.

I refuse to accept the labels of society and the individuals that live within it.
I will instead set my own standards for myself and choose who's opinions I will listen to based on my respect for them.

This is my line in the sand. I am an individual. I am my own person.

Accept me, respect me and I'll do the same for you.

Otherwise  Lips Sealed

I am far to busy being SLY to be troubled by your narrow minded low self worth.

I'd liek to see you guys and gals add to the list of affirmations. You all can add your own stuff to this set of mantras... to help it grow. Just post a reply in the same format:

I refuse to _______________________________
I will instead _____________________________

I'd like to see how far these kind of affirmations can go.

In my opinion Vash, You have hit the Friggin nail on the Friggin Head.  I only wished I had put those thoughts down on paper before.  I think I will type up a bigger version, and post them on my wall that people can see when they walk in the door....
I was told to think outside the box, how did I get in the box in the first place?

I refuse to alter my life just to make someone else(including my wife)feel comfortable.

Instead, I follow the words of W.E. Henley from his poem, Invictus:  "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul."

I refuse to let social anxiety and insecurity marginalize my life and happiness, instead I will find happiness within myself and rise above any ill-conceived ideals of our culture.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, That's why it's called the present!
