How nice that you will have a sly boss at the new job. He should support you for sure. You look great this way. How does it feel to you to have a smooth head ?

Thank you to everyone that responded I really appreciate your positive responses... I really don't know what it is, but I'm just kind of insecure and your comments really help..  I think in the last day I have started to accept my new haircut a little more, but I am yet to go out without tossing the hat on.. However, I think that is more out of habit because I did that before shaving.. I really think that I might go out and try walking around a bit today to get the feel for it..  Once again thank you for the comments..

Also, I am going out with this girl I met a few weeks ago this weekend. I have gone out with her 2 times before, but I have never made any comments or indications to her that I was going to shave my head. I really like her so when we have talked on the phone I have been reluctant to mention it. I think my hesitation is some sort of defense mechanism but I am just nervous that sudden change might offend her. I know that this is kind of a specific situation, but anyone that has experience with this or advice it is def. welcomed.

Once again thanks to everyone who responded...

Figured I should put a picture up of me smiling..

Nobody should go around with a hairline like the one you had -- which was pretty close to what I had when I started shaving.  It's a no-brainer.  You look great in the after pics.  It's normal to feel a bit self-conscious in the beginning.  Force yourself to go out without a hat -- do it amongst strangers at first, in a shopping mall or something.  It's a little easier around people who know you no other way.  That will boost your confidence a bit and then you can try going hatless around people you know.  Don't keep hiding under a hat or you'll never get past the insecurities.  Besides, a great looking dome like yours deserves to be shown off proudly.

When I first shaved I also was reluctant to go without a hat.You just have to bite the bullet and go out with out any. Now I don't like to even wear a hat ,except for cold or very hot sun.

It does look good (much better then on the 'before'  pic.

I wouldn't worry to much about the interview. People who don't know you (or not that well), probably won't even notice.

DON'T second guess your decision to go SLY!!

You owe it to yourself to let your new look "grow" on you!!

In 30 days, you'll wonder why you waited so long to go SLY.

Looks great.  Frankly you did need a hat before to cover that up before, but no need to do so now--you look 100% better.

Bro, I'm in the same boat. I'm a noob. First day at work with the shaved head. I'm getting through day one. It isn't fun but the sky hasn't fallen on my head either. You look substantially better with your head shaved.

Thanks everyone for the comments.. I am still having a little bit of trouble keeping the confidence up, but coming here and reading your posts makes it a little easier. Sometimes I wonder if everyone is just being nice. I went on a couple other hairloss sites and everything they say about white people shaving their heads are kind of grim so it is sometimes difficult to believe everything I read but I am going to keep shaving for 30 days and see how I feel. I really want to deal with this situation like a man and not let this hair loss affect me. You guys are a huge help and I thank everyone who has responded...

No question, SLY looks WAY better on you. Now start owning this thing! Don't try to second-guess what others think. BIG waste of energy. Instead, use some creative visualization and 'see' yourself as a confident guy who feels better, looks better, and will succeed at what concerns him most. Rock the SLY bro. It's working!

This is probably too late... but 1st, you look 10 times better shaved. 2nd, I knw it's not the same but... MANY times I had been in those situation where I met a girl having a hat on and things escalated into more. Scared Sh%%. A lot of times already at no turning back stage. I always made a joke of it, took the had off and asked her to scratch my smaller bald head (hey ,, I said it was a joke).. took off hat and put her hand on top of my head. Or told them it was time to shave my head, and asked then to do it for me... Again, these issues only came up when I actually met them wearing a hat and ended up going fast. Mostly bars/clubs. BUT all the hair issues were IN my head, not ON my head. None ever care.... Besides that, for you, it's an improvement, So I think she'll like you better now.... The smile is a little weird...  :D.. KIDDING...  Good luck bro... You look fine..! ( PS, I'm married now so don't have those issues any longer JUST others.. :px)
