Let's lighten the mood here on SBG.
It's been a long week in the House of Schro.. Work was good, just finished a project that could be pretty profitable for the company. Beginning several home improvements around the house (new carpet installed), and preparing for my son's first sports action since suffering a concussion playing soccer (he's a stellar GK...play should have been a red card on the LW), and my daughter's HS golf team is playing in the NorCal semi finals on Monday (taking the day off to watch her).
Going out with the family for a belated birthday dinner for both my son & daughter and just celebrate life. Right now, kicking back with my favorite celebratory beverage...
Jim Beam & Ginger Ale
So, when things are good with you, what do you like to hoist???

Amen to TGIF!
Favorite current beer is a Stella. Or I will have a Seven & Seven or a rum and coke.

Schro,
I had so much Jim Beam in college, I don't know if I can even smell it anymore...lol.
-Although, I have never tried it with Ginger Ale... maybe I'll reconsider.

Depends on the night. If it's just one or two to unwind, I'm drinking johnnie walker or a dry martini. If I'm in for the long haul, I'm drinking Corona or Sam Adams.

My grandfather thought all men should know how to drink which meant Bourbon neat and a beer chaser. That was when I was 12, 13. He disapproved of them but, later, I discovered cocktails which moved me on to Sidecars. Pimms Cup was good in summer and hot buttered rum in winter. That I was 6'5" when I was 12 and needed to shave probably made my tippling less obvious. I didn't drink in public....much and never without a relative. (At 15 my father took me to see Williams, his alma mater, and at lunch at the Williamstown Inn, the man showing me the college was stunned when I ordered a drink. The waiter didn't bat an eye but the gentleman showing us about did. All my father said was, "If they serve him at "21" in New York, they can serve him here.....") I'd also been taught-grandfather again-that men smoked cigars or rolled your own cigarettes. "Tailor mades" as he called them, were in his mind effeminate. It was an unusual childhood.
