I just had a couple of moles removed today. First time for this experience. My question is have any of you guys had this done and how long before I can shave over the area. Doc said around 10 days. That sounds a little quick to me but I hope he is right.. How long did you have to wait?
That's about right, depending on how he removed them. If they could be frozen off, a little less than if he had to scrape them or cut them out. I've had several skin cancers and pre-cancerous lesions removed and I just avoided the effected area. They were all in pretty smooth areas anyway--got the damn things from not being able to put sunscreen on or a hat because it would have messed up the carefully arranged and sprayed into place hair--damn I should have done this many years earlier

.
He cut them off flush and then burned the area. Everything that I found on the web showing size comparable to mine were cut out and stitched up.
I concur @ 10 days had a few skin problems myself.
The ones you saw on the web most likely were cancers ,these need deeper surgery. I have had surgery on a small melanoma on my ear and so far it looks like a cure. It looked like a freckle just a little larger and darker.Early detection can save a lot of problems.
I've had a couple removed. Non-cancerous. I waited about two weeks before shaving over the repaired skin.
Had that done a few times. It depends on how fast you heal. I can usually shave the area in 8-10 days on the minor spots, deep ones it's more like 2 weeks. I use the electric razor as close to the healing area as I can and even place a finger on it when I grab the blade to shave the surrounding area just in case I miss-judge.
Today is day 7 and I was able to clean shave and trim my chin fuzz. Well worth taking the moles off for easier shaving alone. Have appointment in a couple of months to finish them up.
does getting moles taken off leave any kind of scars?I have one mole on my head and really want to get it off but am afraid of having any sort of scar on my head. Also, does getting a mole removed also remove hair in that area?

I am not sure about the scar I can tell you in time but hair has already started where I had mine removed on my face.
I have to admit that I would rather have a small scar than the moles that I had removed.
Again, it depends on the size of the mole but I have not had any scaring and between moles and skin cancer being burned off I'm talking over a dozen removals.
