« on: June 11, 2010, 08:56:33 PM »
hello fellow chrome domes:  we just finished watching the re-make of the "KARATE KID".  it stars... jackie chan & jaden smith (will smith's son).  if U R a fan of the original "karate kid", then U will definitely enjoy this one.  O0

also... if U have kids, this is a perfect kid-friendly movie.  so..."wax on and wax off"... sorry couldn't resist. :D  this movie will bring U memories & smiles of the original. O0

I saw the trailer for this when I took my son to see "Diary of a Whimpy Kid" (which was an absolute riot  :*))).
I totally want to see the Karate Kid remake.

OK, I thought the original was entertaining, but why is Jackie Chan teaching Kung Fu in a movie named "Karate..."?  :/O  Am I missing something?  Did they mis-label the original too?
I did see a comentary on the trailer for the movie on U-Tube and it was narrated by a fake Schwartzenager, which sort of brought up the same point (along with some profanity).   :o
I also heard a professional movie critic on the radio that bascally said to save my money for the new show on Shek that is opening next week.  Is this an unfair comment?   ???

I was surprised and really enjoyed it...it's a remake that stands on its own, unlike many other remakes coming out left and right... O0

It was OK.

I did like the tournament scenes at the end. Those boys beat the crap out of each other.
I also liked how they handled the whole sand floor, wax on/wax off, paint fence thing. Very clever.
