I'm use to taking care of everyone else. I don't know what it's like to be "babied", so when I get sick, half a bottle of nyquil n pass out till it goes away, lol

Same here Freak. I've always had a kickin' immune system. Everyone around me will be sick, and I'll be perfectly healthy taking care of everyone. It must be my 19 years in health care with direct patient care. I've probably had everything by now! lol

My oldest daughter had the swine, she was down for about a week and a half. I caught something that was suspected to be swine, but never confirmed. Went to the doc about a week after I started feeling symptoms. He said it seemed like flu and a touch of something bacterial. Doc wrote me a scrip for the Z-Pac antibiotics. I took the first two that Saturday then started feelin better Sunday after the second dose. I still have the damn cough, but feeling much better otherwise.

Many of us (age, you know) here on SBG were adults in 1976, the last time "swine flu" was a hot-diggety concern. Well, if you made an effort and were vaccinated against it back then, apparently you have a lot of protection against this form. Ming is in fine fettle flu-wise (he thinks), but did get the regular flu shot just in case, Ming being a "belt and suspenders" man.
Ming also recalls having the Asian Flu in 1957--on his birthday, no less, and lying, semi-delirious, in the back of a station wagon as his father and some of his friends blasted away at ducks by Chip Lake in Alberta. Ming was thirteen that day.

I felt something coming on for the last couple of weeks but last weekend I started coughing like crazy when I lied down. Finally got to sleep then my coughing kept waking me up along with a sore throat so it hurt to cough. This kept up for two virtually sleepless nights then on Monday I saw the doctor. He gave me some antibiotics but gave me a flu test just in case. I'm not sure if the antibiotics made a difference but started shaking so bad I had trouble taking a leak and I was freezing and burried myself under three blankets. Through all this I developed a low grade headache which only hurt when I coughed, blew my nose or sat up after lying down. The next day I was feeling a little better but didn't work anyway for extra measure. Last night I went to bed and set the alarms to wake me up and the coughing thing started up all over again just like it did originally and my throat's kinda sore from all that coughing. I've lost a couple of pounds and am really weak today. The flu test isn't back yet so I don't know yet but If this isn't the flu...I don't know. A head cold never hit me this hard in the past and a sinus infection never lasted this long. I guess I'll find out what it is sooner or later. The flu test can come back as negative even if someone has the flu. I'm so tired of feeling this crappy.
