Hello!
I found this board last week. Great site!
I am from Germany and 28 years young. 1.5 years ago I unfortunately had to conclude that my grandfather, which I have never known, inherited his hairloss to me. sh*t happens :-)
My temples started a race to my back of the head. They are getting bigger and bigger. I think my left one will win. I accept bets :-)
It is not so bad right now i'm just at the beginning stage of balding.
It was like a bomb for me and my self-confidence (still it is) when I recognized that I have MPB. It pulls me really down.
Before that I made not a single thought about my hair the whole day. And now my hairloss is omnipresent in my minds. I spend a lot of time and money in the last year to keep my hairs alive. But I don't want to take drugs, topical or creams any longer for the rest of my life.
This week I was cycling my usual 50 km distance and I thought what if there were no mirrors, photos or cameras in the world. What if I never see my own hairs in my whole life.
Would I be concerned about my hairloss? About how I look in others peoples eyes? Do I need to cover hairloss? ... At least nobody, except me, takes care about my hairloss.
It is just in my head. But it is very hard for me to accept it. What do you think? Does a bald head suits me?
So long...

Welcome to the site--there's a real gold mine of information here.
From your pictures my guess would be that your in the early part of the mpb proces, maybe a II or III on the Norwood-Hamilton scale. You can Google that up and see the stages of baldness. Since it's started a little late and you don't mention any "hole" or baldness in the back of your head, you probably won't go bald quickly, i.e. two or three years.
That being said you appear to have a lot of alternatives, buzz tight, or buzz a #3 guide on the clipper. That works well in the early stages--up to about a III on the scale. You could also try the full blade and shave it all off--it will look a little pale at first but that will even out as the weather gets warmer. Do what feels right for you.
Don't worry too much about it. Just keep your hair at a length that compliments the mpb until it advances a little more--the Stratham look. This is all just a way to feel good about yourself. No one else really matters in this.

Willkommen Agent!
You still have a great head of hair. Yes, there is some temple recession but it still looks full and good. But you have exactly the right attitude as to the drugs and creams that the market pushes onto us. Like I said, I can see no thinning, but if you don't feel great about your hair at this point I would suggest "buzzing" it down and seeing how that looks.
Once you get used to that, and if your MPB continues you should shave all the way.
Auf jeden Fall herzliche Gruesse an Sly Bald Guys, du bist in den richtige Platz.

Herzlich Willkommen!
You're right, it's all in your head.
Remember: MPB isn't a desease, it is no doom, it is just one tiny part of the constant aging process of the human body. In one way or the other it happens to everybody.
Look around here. So many success stories, quite a few young guys like you (or even younger) among them.
I think you should experiment with different hair styles so you can find out what you like best. It's impossible to imagine how you will look bald, you'll have to find out yourself, if you like.
There's only one rule: Don't be afraid.

Welcome to the board!! I will suggest that you spend a little time on this web site and get to know some of their experiences. You seem to be in a similar situation to me and I know that their stories have helped me chose the path that seems best for me.

To me your hair doesnt really seem to be receding that much, but perhaps the amount is all a state of mind: I was receding about as much as you at your age, but I didnt consider that I was at the time. In the end, you have to do what you feel is best, and what's right for you.

Welcome agent29, good to have you join us.
From your photos it looks to me like you've still got a great head of hair. You have plenty of options to choose, and I think you should take advantage of them while you can.
Try a gradual shorter cut, especially as it gets warmer. You have plenty of time left before mpb gets worse.
Give it a shot with a close buzz if you like, and from there you can see how comfortable you feel with an actual shave down.
Good decision on not falling for the bs drug and cream routine.

Keep us posted on your progress.
