need reassurance, please help out guys!!

i'm 26 year old and have been gradually loosing my hair for 3-4 years; the process has been moderate in speed. i have finally decided to shave my head (though not completely, but whatever is one of the lowest settings on those shavers). i look forward to embracing it and seeing the last of my hair disappear as a guy that has come to terms with hair loss.

however, i have one concern, and that is the shape of my skull. i guess this is pretty common: i have a flat spot on the back of my head. it is symmetrical and about 2x2 inches with a tiny bump inwards, and starts right above where my ear ends on the picture. because of school and other commitments i can't really go through with it until june because no matter how prepared i am, it will be a punch in the face and one that i can't handle now.

therefore, this issue haunts me and will continue to do so until i take the plunge in june. my question is therefore as follows: do you think (judging from the attached picture), that my head will be pretty reasonably shaped and attractive looking? if you have a flat spot of same kind and have shaved your head -- what is your experience? does it turn out to be worse or better than you feared?

Dude...... there are no perfect heads.... only those who think their heads are perfect. I have scars, divots, and valleys in my head... and it looks perfect.

Advice: Keep reading the posts here, listen to your inner voice.  Caution, when the itch to go sly occurs, you might as well do it, because it won't go away until you do--and if you do, keep it for 30 days and you'll probably never go back and all these worries will go away.  Just my opinion.

I totally agree.  I have been wanting for years to try shaving my head, and I finally went through with it this month.  My head's not perfect but most people like the way it looks shaved.  I'm glad I went through with it.  You will be too, I bet!

There is no way to tell how you'll look bald unless you take away that hair.

But don't worry, you will look just fine and you will feel great (most probably).
 
Perhaps you should concider going shorter over time until June so you wouldn't have to wait for so long until the action starts, plus the "shock" wouldn't be so heavy?

Yanno Dude, like the guys said.  "Theres no  perfect shaped head ". I have a couple spots on the top / back of my head, but I think going Sly helps with my confidence about those scared spots. I think I posted some pics showing them.  Anyways, keep reading posts, you'll see youre not alone. Im glad youre here !
