Hey Todd
You are my idol....I felt the same monetary pain (over $300 per month with products)
Major ouch! Every time they removed it and washed my scalp, I sat there thinking,
SHOULD I?
I have two more weeks before the SLY DRUM ROLL and my "presentation" to the family . Tough not thinking about reaction as the clock ticks
The SLY Network has been tremendous by helpng me build some confidence and I review the comments almost daily
My family is aware
Question: should I make people aware at work?
My current photo (with the rug) will be forthcoming and of course the after
Thanks to the SLY FAMILY!

Great question on whether to let people at work know. I didn't tell anyone at work and just came back from my "hair" appointment with the new look. The responses were virtually non-existent. In my feeble mind I conjured up all sorts of thoughts in my head over peoples' reactions. The actual results were life as usual. Interesting how we're beat over the head that hair = success, hair = people will like you more, hair = people think differently of you -- for me on day 4 of being sly -- there's not a single difference. The only difference that I do notice is that its 20 degrees in Portland with a 15-20MPG wind -- I have a new appreciation for stocking caps!
Also -- after putting on the self tanner 2X a day for 3 days -- my head now matches my face.
You're going to be so happy you're doing this.
Since I did this for myself, I didn't make anyone aware until I did the deed--buzzing and shaving. I needed to do it, not them. As one SBG once pointed out, how many wives or significant others as us about a chance in makeup, hair styles, whatever--very few, certainly not mine.
If all this "preparation" works for you, fine, but please remember the main beneficiary will be the guy in the mirror, and no one else. You will get the rush, you will know that you look better, stronger and younger smooth. They are only observers. It's for you. And when you're happy they should be happy.
I wouldn't tell the people at work. I guess they only know you with "hair" so they cannot really imagine you bald, therefore they will be surprised of your new look anyway.
And in German we say "Vorfreude ist die schönste Freude" meaning "The greatest joy is the joy of anticipation" so enjoy it

.
Todd,
Welcome to the world of Sly from another Northwesterner from up I-5 in Seattle. The Sly look definately works on you. The goatee is a keeper too! Much better than the dead beast on top of the noggin!
You look a whole lot younger!
