Whats cracka lackin folks - I've been looking at shaving my head with a razor for quite some time now. For the past few years I've been having my lady shave it with an electric razor. I started wanting it closer and closer and just decided to take the leap and get the Headblade.
About 2.5 weeks ago I got the HeadBlade and after what seemed like forever, I got it done. Unfortunately just last weekend, I decided to do it again myself (without any help from the lady, since I messed up my first time with the HB) - and really put a hurting on my scalp apparently. I think I probably put pressure on the blade up top and most definitely in the back - I couldnt get the damn hairs off in the back and went over and over with the blade until it DID come off.
Although I thought I had done something good, the past 8 or 9 days have been hell with the amount of damage done to my scalp. I pretty much feel like I have a giant scab on top of my head and the back of my head still is slammed with razor bumps that don't seem to be going away anytime soon. It's pretty bad.
I guess I'll be trying to go with the grain on the back of my head next time, but the way my head feels and looks in the back, I doubt that will be anytime soon - which sucks! Anyhoo, glad to be here.
Welcome to the forum, EQ. Sounds like you need to study up on some of the expert shaving techniques the guys here have posted before attacking the dome again. Glad to see it hasn't discouraged you though, mate. Good to have you here.
Welcome to the Forum EQ! Look in the shaving section for tips...... you will find info on just about anything you can think of......
Make sure you head is soaked before applying creme or soap. Try using shaving oil before creme and experiment with different razors. I use the "Rolling Razor" found in some of the banner ads with a sensitive blade refill. You will find You Tube Video's on technique if you search for them too.
Welcome and good luck.
I think one common theme you'll find in this thread and the others relating to shaving problems is the necessity to try a lot of stuff until you find what works for you and that dome. I thought I was a little strange bc I would be looking over all the shaving stuff in every store I went into, even if I didn't 'need' anything. Then others admitted they did it too. I have literally one drawer in the bathroom with different stuff I've tried, razors, shaving balms, whatever--then other guys admitted to having a similar collection. You'll find what works--just be careful. And while you're at it make sure to get sunscreen--skin cancer is not part of the Sly Life.
Weclome to SBGs!

You'll get the hang of your HeadBlade with more practice...
Welcome to the forum EQ. Hang in there, with time and patience you will soon be a HeadBlade expert. As the guys said, read through all the sections for tips on how to deal with bumps, etc.
Enjoy your new smooth dome!
