Andre Agassi's new book
« on: October 28, 2009, 12:24:20 PM »
Hey guys, it's been awhile.  Hope you all are doing well.
I was on ESPN.com today and came across an article on Agassi's new book, "Open".

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=reilly_rick&id=4601145

Apparently Agassi is brutally honest in this book, including his confession that he wore a hairpiece back in his crazy hair days.  It mentions in the article that he lived a lie, and was living his life for others.  I thought I would post this here because it reminded me what this site is all about, doing what is best for you - and in turn, becomes what is best for everyone else.
Keep the dome sly, and keep being yourselves.  Talk to you guys soon.

Trev

Trev, thanks for the post!

WOW, Trev! Thanks for the post. Agassi is my favorite tennis player. Maybe because he is so close to my age. This is a great look into a troubled and conflicted life (much like my own). I now have it on pre-order. Can't wait to read it. From one SLY GUY to another...THANKS! O0

Agassi, my hero....say it isn't so! :Xo!

Seems that every popular figure in society is writing a shocking kiss and tell book these day. To me Agassi will always be the stellar athlete and fine humanitarian. Why write this garbage? It could cost him his place in the world of tennis and perhaps his Olympic gold medal. I'm shattered by these revleations of his.

His hair extensions were so obvious. I wonder how he played tennis with those things?

As soon as Agassi nixed the bad hair, he took control of his life, and become a better tennis player and person.

Not to be preachy but if it's the truth it isn't garbage.  I give the man props for telling the truth on himself.  That's a rarity in these times.  However, the cynical side of me says that it can be highly profitable too.

I agree with you 100% Red, I love Agassi and I'm not a tennis fan by anymeans, but I'm calling Bull$!@ on the whole matter and its not because I think he's lying but its all in the timing, hey everyone has inner demons and problems and he obviously decided to keep them to himself and you do have to respect that but all of a sudden a week prior to the book released it gets leaked that he was doing meth  in the early 90's when he sank into the 100 rankings. You know some publicist had the idea to give everyone a taste of his bio. Will I buy the Book, I'll buy it before I buy Jose Canseco's autobiography and I guess to some that says alot.
