Oil control hydrator-Clinique
« on: August 16, 2009, 07:59:09 PM »
http://www.clinique.com/product/CATEGORY22356/PROD7531/Mens/Skincare/All_Mens_Skin_Care/index.tmpl

I have been using HeadLube Lotion Matte - 8 oz for about a year now, but my wife bought home a sample of this Clinique product which is great....downside....it's only 1.7 oz, vs the Headlube which is 8oz.

Can anyone recommend another oil control hydrator that you use but a bigger size?  I can't see spending $22 for the Clinique product.

Thanks!

Is it oil control you are going for or the matte finish?

Have you tried the Matte for Men, or the matte finish Headlube?  My MFM should be coming this week.  I don't really have a problem with oil, but I want to reduce the mirror effect and even out the skin tone with the Matte for Men supposedly does.  I am highly prone to freckling.

And remember that some oil is good.  Keeps the skin from drying out and flaking.

My skin is very oily so nothing I use really helps control oil.  By mid-day I'm an oil slick.  However, this week I tried not putting any moisturizer of any kind on my head.  After my shave I just use Head Clear and nothing else.  I made it further through the day before the oiliness got really bad.  I think if you got oily skin you really don't need a moisturizer...you got natural moisturizer.

I agree with you 100% ycartt! BUT, if I don't use anything for a few days I do still end up with flaking! Fine line between too oily and too dry.
It's all about attitude!

I use Jack Black oil control lotion ... I tried the others and nothing kept my head oil free ... this stuff works awesome. Downside? It's pricey, about $17 ... you can get it at Nordstrom's or Sephora.

In the interest of helping others, do you feel that the various wipe products help with oil control?  I am often shocked at the amount of dirt and oil they remove in the afternoons when I use them.
