Depends on how much time you spend in the sun, and at what time of day. Be careful...that tender skin probably hasn't seen ANY sun for a long time.

Did mine 8 days ago.  Color is coming in and is no longer paper white.  I generally use an SPF15, but do not spend too much time in the sun as I work in an office all day.  I did mow the lawn without a hat this weekend which helped out a bit.  I have also been using the Jergen's Natural Glow Face Lotion for fair to medium that someone else on here recommended.  I have used that on a daily basis.  It has not turned me orange yet.  :)

First of all welcome. I am Sly about a month , so I went through the whole magilla recently.

It took only 3-4 days of partial sun to "get the white out".

It also took less than a week for the numbness to subside. Some here miss that feeling, for me it was weird and I'm glad it's in my rear view mirror.

Read up on past posts for best razors, shaving scream, gels, etc and enjoy the chrome!

Welcome to the forums.

I use SPF 30 on my head.  I don't think 15 would be enough to keep me from burning.  I will also second the Jergins Natural Glow lotion.  I had read about it on some other posts and last week I was digging through the drawers in the bathroom and my wife had some.  I have been using it every day and it has helped a lot.  It may take a few days to notice any change though.  Make sure its the stuff for your face.  She had some for your body and I used it once and my head felt real oily later that day.  I have also spent a lot of time in the sun on the weekends since I went sly.  I've only been shaving for 24 days and my head is pretty much the same color as my face now.

Lucky, I'm almost 30 days (might be there already) and it is taking forever... But since I have such fair skin, I am avoiding getting much sun (without sunscreen that is), but it is slowly having an effect and changing.

Depends on your skin type how long you will take to get a even tan, Mine took about a month to lose the white patch, and if you have never shaved your head before the skin has to get used to it`s new found freedom, and will take longer to tan, but keep shaved and let air at your head and it will tan, But get out in the sun as much as possible,
In the winter months i don`t use any sun screen, but in summer use spf 30, but i have shaved my head for 7 yrs and the skin is toughened up and sun dosn`t bother it much now.
Then as for sun screen the higher the spf rating the better, when swimming etc make sure you regularly apply sun screen as this is when you burn the worst
