Head shave deal.
« on: September 13, 2009, 03:04:05 AM »
I've shaved my head before and always liked it, but usually
lost my balls after a couple of days and started growing back.

The other night I clippered my hair down to stubble again, which I've always felt comfortable with. Then a couple of friends suggested I go all the way; who am
I to argue. So took it off last night.

This is when it gets interesting. Since one of these friends is aware of my track record, he suggested a fixed head shaving period (I'm aware of the 30 day rule, but have never reached it. I don't think he knows of it). So he made a deal, he wouldn't shave, or cut his hair for three months (normally full on BBC sly), and I take a razor to mine daily. I'm genuinely excited about this, and have settled into the idea of being bald for three months  :)

Being that this is more than 3 times the 30 day rule, I'm well aware of that rules track record, so won't be surprised if I stay sly for a while after december 11th. Will let you all know how it goes.

By the way, I'm 25 and live in southern UK. Bald isn't such a big thing here as I think it is in the states. I naturally have more than enough hair, thick (annoying), thick beard and quite a chest rug. Though may be rid of one of them, for a while at least  ;)

Welcome.  The first few times I shaved my head, I also let it grow back within a few days.  I didn't think I could make it through the 30 day period, but I finally committed to it, and when it was over, I decided to extend it for another 60.  By then, I was well and truly hooked.  When I look back, I think that the scariest part about taking the plunge wasn't that I wouldn't like it, but that I would like it.  I think on a subconscious level I was aware that if I stayed bald for 30 or more days, that I would get to really like it.  The thought of a permanent change was scary, but having been through that, all I can say is it was well worth it and I wish I'd done it sooner.

Shaving your head is only part of the sly experience; once you skip a day you no longer have a shaved head.  You owe it to yourself to live your day-to-day life as a bald man for a while.  When the 90 days are up, you may find yourself trying to extend the terms of the bet for another 90.   ;)

Good luck and be sure to post a pic if you can.

Welcome to the site Collegebuzz.  Glad you could join our group.  Stick to your guns and I do believe you will come to enjoy the Sly lifestyle.  I too shaved my full head of unruly hair on a bet(which I lost).  There was no time limit on how long it was to remain shaved.  To my surprise, I really like the look and feel of the slick noggin.  Best of luck.  By the way, does your friend get to cut his hair after the initial 90 days if you continue past the alloted time period?
I am no better that anyone else, but by God, no one is better than I am

Thankyou for your encouragement so far.

I've started to feel a hell of a lot more comfortable with a shaved bald head than I ever have before. I think it's just the knowledge that I'm like this for at least 90 days, so I need to get used to it. I've settled on properly bald and have shaved again today, which actually felt nice, getting rid of that bit of stubble that was coming through  :)

I will have to agree with Razor X about the lack of having done the 30 day period before. Probably that I've had reservations about allowing myself to get hooked on the shaving and learning to really like being bald.

We didn't discuss extending the initial period, I might ask him next time we speak. But if I end up like you guys, he'll have a ponytail before I grow back, that might be a bit mean of me.

I'm using headblade mentholated shave cream, with a fusion blade, need to work out sensitive neck issues though. But should be fine.

You should have stipulated that he had to grow a beard and that he couldn't shave or trim it or his scalp hair until you stopped shaving your head.  You could have turned him into a mountain man.   ;)

He normally has a bit of a beard, am sure he would be really up for it. Might grow my beard a bit more too  ;)

My other half gave me a head rub earlier, loved it. I think this might be fun.

Good news, I suggested the beard. He was already intending one for the three month challenge. Don't fancy being in his shoes. But no chance of extending beyond if/when I stay bald, so am sure he will be back to bald after threw months aswell.
