Shower shaver ??
« on: June 03, 2009, 02:56:51 PM »
Alright all you guys that shave in the shower, I have some questions. Do you find it difficult to keep your razor properly rinsed?  It's not like shaving at the sink where you can run the  razor under hot, hot water every couple of strokes.

Do I need to get a fogless mirror? I know I shave my head 80% or more just by feel. But I'm thinking it may help alot to be able to see where I've been??

I used to shave my head and face at the same time. Well actually I applied the shaving lotion of that days choice on face and head. I would do my face while letting the cream do its work on the noggin and then I would shave  the head. Right now I'm doing the head in the shower and then using an electric on my face.

Any advice??

No problem rinsing with either HeadSlick or BaldGuyz Gel (or any of the other products that I use

Hot water to rinse????? Dude, you're standing in the shower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shave the face in the shower too............

Get the mirror and start shaving in the shower.  The results you get from a shower shave are much better.  O0

As little as I need it, I have a fog free mirror (In runs some water behind it to keep it clear) in the shower.
Also the head of my shower is on a hose so I can use it that way. Last rinse I lean over and rinse my head in cold.

Works for me.

DogStar Guy, Great idea...I mean the shower attachment! I'm going to try converting to a shower that has that. It just seems that it would make everything so much easier!! Thanks

Mirror helps a lot. I shave the dome in the shower and electric the beard (the part I don't grow) a razor tears my face up and the electric is faster for me on the face.

Dude..I shaved my melon in the shower for the first time tonight. The hair had grown a little more than I'd prefer, so it took more strokes than desired, but the ability to keep water over it the whole time really helped, I think. I don't have a mirror, so it was all braille. Missed a couple spots, but took care of them when I did the goat at the sink. I plan on researching the 'lectric stuffs for the shower..but I'm pretty set on the shower from now on.

I shower shave every morning. I do have a small mirror mounted on the shower wall, which I use only for shaving my face. I shave my head by braille, using my fingertips to go "stripe hunting" after I make my normal multi-directional passes with my HeadBlade.

I use a triple blade ultra on my face and simply warm the mirror up with the shower water for a moment (shower head on the hose setup) and rinse it a couple of times as I shave my face.

Works great and no mess on the sink/counter for my wife to complain about.

i shave in the shower and do not use a mirror nor feel the need to.

your doing it by feel....y would u need a mirror? it would slow down your shaving process in my opinion.

Hey, Mouse. I can do my head in the shower no problem. But for my face, I'd like a mirror. I find it's just easier to do it when you can see where you have shaved and where you haven't.
Actually it's kinda moot now because I ordered a mirror on line a couple of days ago. So I'll know soon enough.

Mentioned it elsewhere but thought it on topic here.

I have a small valve above the shower head that easily turns, even wet and soapy so that the water flow can be set max or down to a slight trickle.

Conserves water and especially for those on limited wells or small water heaters.

I take longer showers because of it and can stay as wet as I like, but still save on hot water.

I Shaved in the shower for the first time it was by far way better than doing it in the sink, and clean up was a breaze.

Although my previous post suggested being stoked about shower shaving, I find myself not doing it so much. Mostly because I always have to get a few spots when I get out of the shower, too. So I just figured I'd cut it down to one session - at the sink. Maybe once I get my shaving routine down and learn my head a little better, I'll do it in the shower.
