road trip games.
« on: June 19, 2009, 02:22:40 AM »
as most of you know, i took a little road trip last weekend. 6 hours with kids can be torture. unless you find ways to make it fun. my 8 yr old likes to play I SPY. so we are cruising along the highway playing I SPY with the youngun' and my girlfriend "spys" something TAN AND SHINY. my son immediately says (with a loving pat on the head) "dad's head" we all got a good laugh and i took it as a compliment. just wanted to share that.
    so what do you guys do to pass time on road trips?

States--how many different licenses plates;
Oldest Car, Newest Car--especially for the boys!
Lifting your feet crossing a state line--we still do this silly trick.

me and the wife one time played the game of UHaul and Ryder.  I got the UHauls and she got the Ryders , who ever had the most at the end of the trip was the winner.  I lost because we went past a Ryder headquarters place....whole freakin parking lot full of Ryder trucks

Every year I drive to North Carolina with my mother, and my older cousin. I was always the youngest in the family, but was always extremly good on long trips and on the few exceptions that I wasn't, my mom would just medicate me and knock me right out :). We just joke around and act like a bunch of clowns.

Soetimes we play the name/proffession game with names and porfessions which start with the same letter (Sales Samantha, Construction Carrie, Phone sex Phoebe!)

Just be creative
