Tattoos On Your Head
PigPen:
Did the the skull on the front of your neck hurt when you got it? Sure as hell seems like it would. I have only one tat currently and it's on my back. I have plans for at least two more. They won't be very visible either because of work. I'm a Service Advisor for an Acura dealer. Doesn't go over very well with visible ink.

Actually, the neck tattoo didn't hurt much, compared to some I have received in the past. But, in all honesty, (having more than 60 all over my body) I think each person has a different "sensation" for each and every location. Me, for example, obviously don't have a problem with the pain tolerance or threshold, but again sometimes some ares can REALLY wake you up (hehe!), like near the nipple, back of the knee, or high up in the inner arm... HELLO! hehe I am almost 36 years old and got my first tattoo at 18 years of age at Sunset Strip Tattoo, in Hollywood, after USMC Bootcamp. I guess my "realm" of work makes it more accepted, having been in the service, then Law Enforcement, Corrections, and the Private realm. I'm very professional and have an awesome resume, just not the typical "Professional" kind. ..hehe For more info on my careers, most welcome to view my MySPace page. I don't wanna regurgitate it all here as well, I'm already sort of off topic for the thread. haha All my best fellas..

I did notice on your MySpace page, something about Security in the music biz? I play guitar and sing, and I'm trying to get a band together currently. If I was able to break into the business full-time, it would be a different story. I would like to get "CASH" on the bottom of my left wrist so I could cover it with a watch if I needed to. Anyway, I agree with the different pain thresholds and tolerances. The piece on my back hurt most around the shoulder blades and spine area. No cushion!!! Oh well, the ink truly is addictive.
Yeti:
It sure is... and I have never felt the need to "cover" any of mine, yet I dont go around showing them, all either hehe normally my lower arms, below a T-shirt's sleeves, and my neck show, unless I wear shorts (then leg tats show too). I fell asleep when my back piece was done, although a huge lower backpiece was quite painful, second only to maybe a kneecap. hehe I guess I am just lucky that with the career paths I have taken that I have been free to be a tattooed freak. hehe Military, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Personal Security Specialist. As for the music industry I work as Head of Security and Stage Manager for some acts, soon to go on my next tour, and potentially more afterwards. It's all about networking and people seeing your skills. I am well liked and well respected. Pretty cool gig, but hectic, like most anything. ;)

Was checking out some designs for possible new ink work today and saw something that covered this question and piercings. The guy was cool, had gone sly, on the back of his head a piercing of a spike with a tattoo of a hammer pounding it in. Apparrently a glutton for punishment.
