Electric Razors...

So, I know this has most likely been discussed before, but I have had some positive experiences using an electric razor recently. I joined this group back in October of last year and I quickly shaved my head with a razor... it just became too dificult to keep it smooth using a blade since I didn't have a routine of shaving my face everyday. I have again joined the ranks of the sly bald guys, though I've found using an electric razor for daily maintainence much easier than a blade.

I know most people mention that an electric razor can't get as close as a blade, but I use the Panasonic ES8023 in the shower and I have no problem getting it as close as my Gillette Fusion blade (though it does take a little bit more time and a few more runs to get that smooth shave). I've never had any cuts or razor burns from my blade (both of which I have gotten on my face), though I'd always get a bit nervous when using it... I like that when using the electric razor I have absolutely no worries about injuring my scalp. I still use the blade for my face which I only have to use every 2 or 3 days, but keeping my head smooth daily in the shower with my electric shaver has been wonderful.

Soon after I joined this group and smoothed my dome I let it grow back out to stubble, showing the extreme MPB for a 28 year-old I have... now I've been keeping it smooth for a while and have almost gotten the skin tone to even out on my skull (which has been hard here in Southern California where the difference in skin tone had become quite significant with the year-round sunny skies).

What sort of experience have you had (if any) with electric shavers on the head?  :)

I just bought the ES8077S  But it hasn't arrived yet.  I am waiting on giving it a go.  I've tried my Remington ms2 200 and 5130 i've had ok results with the ms2 200 since it's a foil.  The 5130 Just SUCKS! Even on my face.
