I keep a bandanna handy.  when I'm working out or giving a massage (massage therapist in training) I wear a bandanna around my noggin to keep the sweat off my client.

Wet Ones for Sensitive Skin work well too.  And they're cheap.

I've been reading all the post about sweating.  Do you accumulate more sweat on your scalp once you go sly???  I guess I will know after Saturday :)

it's not that you get more. it is just noticed more. when you have hair the hair absorbs and dries it out. without hair you notice.

Hey.. I usually have some napkins in my pocket when it gets hot. I go to clubs and dance house music, so I sweat a lot some nights out...on those nights, I wear a bandana- folded and tied in the back so the top of my head is still open.

Also, experiment with different lotions because some lotions will make sweat roll right off your head, others won't have that effect.

Hope this helps =)

I'm going sly in a couple of weeks, so can't give advice now.  This has made me think of a question - how noticeable is sweat on the dome when you're sly?  Other than when I'm working out, I've never paid much attention to whether my scalp is sweating.  Without hair, I guess it's more noticeable, but do you think your head sweats more or less when you're sly?

It's about the same, the sweat glands don't become more productive due to the missing hair. However hair has a way of absorbing and disipating the seat.  Also, even as fine as it is, hair has surface area that the sweat spreads over.  Remove the hair and I'll guess you could be reducing that surface area by as much as 50% therefore you get the impression of more sweat since there is nothing absorbing it or aiding in its evaporation.

Makes sense.  Hair does give a lot of surface area for the moisture to dissipate.  So it sounds like a good idea to always have something on hand to mop up the sweat cause it'll run free, unlike when the hair is there.  One more thing I have to learn about being sly!

I just keep a bandanna stuffed in a pocket to wipe it up on occasion.

I also have a container of isopropyl alchol wipes (dispenser jug like baby wipes - about 3 or 4 bucks at Walgreen's etc)
that I keep on the porch with my yard work supplies and in the car.  Yes, over use could lead to dryng out your skin but they feel INCREDIBLE to wipe down a sweaty/oily head and face.  Do a great job getting the slime off and a nice cooling sensation as it evaporates.
