I would suggest to stop using the moisturizer for awhile to see if is the culprit. It's the last thing you put on and you don't wash it off.

Yea i did start using something different, you would think that i would have done that a long time ago, but like i said i didnt have that problem before, im realy hoping thats not the cause, but if it is i will just find a new moisturizer, we will see if this other product changes things. Thanks for your feedback much appreciated.

My shave routine.
I slap some shaving foam on my head. I run a razor over it till it's smooth. I then put some moisteriser on, mainly cos my face gets dry skin especially if I have sweatted at the gym.

That's it

I just want to recommend a product called 'TendSkin' OH MY!!!!!!!!! it is abolsutely incredible.
It is for razor burn/bumps/spots etc and no joke it clears it up within 12 hours, and if you use it straight after a shave you will not get anything again, just a beautiful clean perfect head. if anyone purchases this product and isnt happy with it, i will myself give you the money back for it . thats how confident i am. it has saved my bloody life!

youtube videos for more information. cheers

+1 for BBCMark's recommendation of Tend Skin. It is a little expensive, but works very well. I found a recipe on line for a home made version of the product which also works very well, as follows:

-one two ounce spray bottle
-6 uncoated aspirin tablets crushed into a powder (you can use a fork or mortar and pestle)
-a smidge less than 1.5 ounces of 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
-a smidge less than .5 ounces of Witch Hazel
-three squirts of liquid glycerin or 1/2 teaspoon (prevents the alcohol from drying out the skin and helps adhere the product to the effected area)

Combine liquid ingredients and aspirin in a blender to mix the ingredients. Then pour into the spray bottle. The blender is optional to mix as you can pour the ingredients in the bottle and shake it well to mix, although I think the blender does a better job. Voila! You are done. Shake the bottle each time prior to using as some of the aspirin may settle out of the solution (although mixing in the blender minimizes this).

My experience is that it may take a few days for persistent bumps to heal using either the genuine or the home made product, but it will feel better immediately.

Happy Shaving.

+1 on the Tend Skin! If you're a DIYer (like I am!) you can make your own with some aspirin and witch hazel or alcohol (just google homemade Tend Skin.) I moisturize after with the same stuff I use on my face.

Just that mate. It has something in it which stops it from drying your skin out. I don't feel the need for anything else.

New to the headshave thing but have used tendskin for years whenever I have an ingrown/bump issue on my face.  Remember tend skin works best on a completely dry face(or head I guess). I like the idea of homemade, the stuff is pretty expensive, but not really interested in the hassle.

Well I go back and forth on shaving to the scalp and letting it grow to a one but here it goes.

Tools needed:
  - HeadBlade Sport (3 blade cartridge)
  - Gillette Fusion Pro glide
  - Gillette Fusion Pro series Thermal Face Scrub
  - Gillette Fusion Pro series Irritation Defense Shave Gel
  - Nivea For Men Replenishing Post Shave Balm
  - HeadBlade Lube Matte
  - Wahl Clippers (if I'm reshaving my head)

The Process:
Again I first use my Wahl Clippers to shave my whole head if I've grown it out, I keep it to a #1, then the process goes as follows.
1. Take warm shower
2. Keep head wet and use Thermal Scrub on whole head and facial area.
3. Rinse Thermal Scrub and place Shave Gel on whole head and facial area.
4. Place HeadBlade on finger.
  - I start by shaving the top of my head by going front to back. Note: I go against the grain from the start.
  - Start shaving the back of my head working my way forward.
  - I then go front to back on the sides of my head, then in an upward position against the grain.
5. Take Fusion Proglide and shave the face.
  - Starting from the sides working my way forward
  - Repeat process going against the grain.
  - Use the single bale around the ears and back of the neck.
6. Rinse whole head and dry off.
7. Take Post Shave Balm and place on whole head and face.
8. (optional) Depending on how I feel that day I wait till it's a bit dry and I place HeadLube on my whole head and face.

Man I made this thing sound like a Manual haha.

I have always shaved in the shower. Seems to save me time.
Start with washing my head with simple Ivory soap, use 8 drops of a shaving oil, shave with Gillette Mach 3 razor, finish with another wash using soap, and I am done.
I always end up with a close shave and a full shine every time.

I'm a sink shaver and my nightly ritual go's as follows

First I soak my head under the hot water for 1 min or so.
Then wash my scalp with my face wash to get it nice and clean.
I then put on baby oil then my shave gel, all this while my razor sits in rubbing alcohol.
Give it a nice BBS ATG shave.
Hope in the shower and give it another quick wash to get any excess baby oil.
Then i give it a cold water rinse and a ice cube rub.
Apply some witch Hazel and then some clear Aloe Vera Gel.

My routine has been greatly simplified over the last 18 months:

Shampoo (yeah, I know, there's no hair) to get rid of the oil/grime
Exfoliate (currently using HeadShed)
Shave (currently using HeadSlick)
Rinse
Towel dry
Done.
