One more Newby
« on: August 25, 2016, 09:47:06 PM »
Hello Sly Bald Guys and Gals. I have had short hair for 20+ years, always thought it would disguise my thinning hair. Short hair worked well with my job and I thought I'd always keep it that way. A few months ago, I saw that my hairstyle was the "wrap around" style. That's all that it took. I did a search for a website that could offer help shaving my head. I found this one and did my research here before taking the plunge. As I sifted through posts, I realized that everyone has a different method or product that works for them. Early July I just took the plunge and haven't looked back. Easily the best hairstyle that I have ever had. I thought I'd formally join and keep learning.
I want to thank each and every one of you for writing about your experiences, I felt comfortable shaving my head and vow to never go back to the wrap around.

Welcome to the board, Ramathorn!

I am very glad you are happy with the result. What method or process have you found that works best for you?

I have never been able to use a razor on my face, it always got too irritated so Ive used an foil shaver for 25 years. Having said that I knew that I wouldnt get the close shave on my scalp. I've settled on a Fusion razor with a gel shave cream followed by an aftershave cream or if I'm outside a sun lotion with a spf30.
I have been trying to shave daily, buy have let it go two or three days a couple of times. I really like a close shave and have been training my scalp by shaving WTG but am looking forward to shaving ATG for that BBS look and feel.

Welcome
