skin tags??
« on: February 09, 2010, 11:27:57 PM »
After my first shave I noticed I had 8 to 10 small skin tags on the back of my head.  while shaving a couple days later I cut most of them them off completey and bled like a stuck pig.

My question is does anyone know what these are and should I do more than just cut them off?

thanks
Scott

I've had some skin tabs too and went to my Dr. and she burned 'em off.  Much more better!   O0

I have a few as well, but none on my head.  I agree with the other guys though, just see a dermatologist.  Quick and easy fix!

Scott, Definitely have a doctor check them out.

Skin Tags are not that a big problem. They are very much bothering but now they can be removed.

Skin Tags.  Some people are prone to many of these. Others none.

My doctor generally takes care of them at my annual physical. Tend to get a lot on my neck, back, chest and groin area.  If they are small, they just twist off.  Medium, he just uses a scalpel. He only uses lidocaine  if they are large. The numbing meds hurt worse than just slicing them off.

If you've already done self-surgery inadvertently with your razor, maybe rushing off to the derm-man is now less urgent, unless the crop was not fully harvested.  But an annual skinscan is a good idea for most of us.  I have a regular botanical garden of various generally benign growths, mostly on my trunk, but there has been found one basal cell cancer on the head (neck), and something expensive called "Mohs Surgery" took care of it.  I've had skin tags taken off, but new ones sprout again, and many of them I now just ignore unless they are in a place that gets them irritated.
