Being a relatively new sly member where should your sideburns end and do you fade  or just stop?

When I go to the barber, he usually tapers mine into a fade at the earlobe level. Once in a while I'll let it curve halfway over the ears..

I taper mine at earlobe level but I see it often taken to about where the arm of glasses would sit.

There is no correct answer.  I use a blunt cut at the top of the ear where the arms of eyeglasses sit, with no taper.  I have seen lower ear, mid ear, faded, pointed, and everything in between.  It is just personal preferences.  I have tried different locations on myself and settled in where I am for three main reasons:

1.  It is easy (no fading, tapering, pointing, and the location is ease to judge.
2.  My sideburns are rather "weak" so to say.  So the extra hair i get by going high helps them look fuller.
3.  It is easy.

When I wear a full beard I shave them at an angle so they come to a sharp point right where the upper ear skin meets my scalp.

Mine stop at the level of the arms of my glasses as well.

I get the barber to taper/fade them off, though. I do not possess that level of dexterity to do it myself.

As Slybeard said there is no correct answer. Some let the sideburns end at the earlobe level, others like full sideburns ending at the point where the arms of glasses would be. Currently my sideburns end where the arms of glasses would be.

Right there.  Now keep in mind I haven't shaved my head or lined up the beard yet today but I keep a full beard, not even my neck gets trimmed (the neck is the whole reason I can't shave my face anyway).  Now basically I shave my whole head, then line up the top to be level with that part of my ear, and when needed us a beard/balls electirc trimmer to slightly fade the sideburns down a little which also prevents overgrowth on the sides of my jaw or "wolverine face" as my wife calls it lol. I only have to use the trimmer to fade 2-3 times a month.  The head shave and line up is usually daily.
