I've been using this concoction for a while now:
- A pea-sized dollop of Aloe Vera Gel
- 3 or 4 drops of tea tree oil
- 3 or 4 drops of witch hazel
Mix them together in the palm of your hand until they achieve a lotion-like consistency (they thicken when you mix them) and rub your hands together and spread the goop on your freshly-shaven dome.
It give you a brilliant, shiny, but completely non-greasy finish to start your day.

I've tried facial astringant also those facial cleansing pads like what noxzema has not just for my face but a little on my head. For the same principle as the face  to clear up any breakouts and to kill bacteria works good if  I have a cut it will sting but clean out the area. P . S . I have not done that in a whilv love the way my face + head would smell after my shave.

I use a pre-mixed concoction I picked up at a vitamin store.. it's witch hazel, tea oil, aloe, and a bunch of other oils & herbs.  Stings like the dickens if I have any nicks but it works great as an astringent and preventing ingrown hairs.  I'll have to post the brand name later when i get home.  Drawing a blank right now LOL

BBBA, I use the same mixture. Actually use it on most of my body, very good for skin. I mix about 90% WH, 10% Aloe, about 10 drops of oil. I mix it in a used hand soap pump bottle. I found the TT oil in the ethnic hair products area at Walmart.
Bald by choice, and loving it!

Been reading about this concoction for quite awhile.  Finally ran out of the after shave balm I'd been using.  I mixed 1/2 witch hazel with 1/2 Aloe Vera Gel that already has tea tree oil as well as lidocane in the mixture.  It's marketed for sun burns but I'm thinking this will work.  I had an old pump bottle leftover from when I used to buy commercial massage oil.  These days I use 100% pure grape seed oil for massaging and my clients love it and it's literally half the price.
