Could I rock it?
« on: April 30, 2016, 04:18:30 PM »
Hello all. This is my first post to the forum. I'm almost 27 and my hair is thinning. I've had short hair all my life, mostly crewcuts & buzzes. I'm a pretty manly type of guy who's not sad about his hair going away lol. And, I've always thought alot of guys looked cool shaved slick. My brother in law shaves his head most of the time also. Of course he tells me to go for it haha. He also says he'd be happy to do the deed for me. My sister says she'd be totally cool with having a bald brother and that I'd look handsome as well. She says I'd be one of her two favorite bald men! Other girls I know have also told me I'd look fine absolutely bald, and that they'd prefer a clean-shaven head to thinning hair. I'm just wondering if everyone on here agrees. Also, how does it feel to be hairless? Is it comfortable? Here's some pics of me. My hair is kinda long right now, just haven't taken the time to get a haircut lately. You can see my hair loss too.

I think it would be an improvement over the thinning hair.  Go for it.

Welcome! Two things in your favor are: 1. you've come to terms about being a bald guy and 2. You have great beard coverage that would go great with a shaved head. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Also, your BIL is a great source for tips and upkeep...(maybe you could get him to join the forum too  >:D)

Shaved would be a definite improvement or your current style.  And you have family already on board, which it the largest obstacle for most guys.  As to comfort, your scalp will have a cool or cold feeling as it will be exposed to air, most of us find it a refreshing feeling.  Nothing feels better than a smooth scalp though, well almost nothing.

Thanks for all the advice. I dug up a couple pics from when I had a real close buzz when I was 17. My hair was way thicker back then hahaha.

Personal opinion: you will look great shaved. Keep the beard.

You will look fine with a shaved head.

Any lady who has hangups over a bald head is focusing on triviality.

It feels very nice.

Welcome. You've come to the right place.

Every woman that I have dated or married never had a bad word to say about my bald head. In fact, I let them shave me a couple of times!

Give the shaved head a shot! Since you get buzzcuts pretty regularly already, a lot of people already think of you as a guy that shaves his head. If you decide the maintenance or look of a chromedome isn't for you, you'll be back to buzzcut length in a couple of weeks.
