Tips for staying smooth longer?
« on: July 18, 2016, 09:10:29 AM »
I was wondering if anyone had any tips for keeping the head smooth for a longer period of time? The only difference I've been able to detect is that I defiantly stay smooth longer with a sharper blade. I use a de with feather blades by the way. Are there any other tricks to extend a smooth shave? Thanks

What helped me was going over my head twice.  I have very think hair (BBC) and one pass just doesn't get it.  I shaved 6 hours ago and can barely tell the difference.  I also shave ATG both times.

Yes, Jeff, I noticed that my head stays smooth almost all day if I do a good DE shave. By the next morning, I'm ready for another shave. It just depends on the thickness of your hair, and how fast it grows. I don't know of anything to slow that down.

A cold water rinse and an alum block seem to help.

So does an alum block do the same thing as witch hazel? Would that work just as good? If not, can you buy that locally or is amazon the only place? Sorry for all the questions. :-\

I'm BBC with seriously thick hair and I could skip a day when I de shave.  With my atx I would shave every day wtg, atg, then just touch ups in various directions since my hair grows all around.

I appreciate the headblade products and their customer service is top notch but nothing comes close to a de
