Check out what I found a couple weeks ago...a 1956 Gillette Travel Razor. It shaved pretty good with Poraso and an Astra. It's cuter than a bug’ s ear, ain't it?

I got thre nasty nick/cuts in the span of 30 seconds the other day so I've stepped back from the merkur for a little while to let them heal. The blade must not have been sitting right in the head of the razor. But it didn't look like it when I checked. :-/

Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

My Monday SOTD:  Face (sink) & dome (shower)

Razor:  Merkur 37C
Blade:  Polsilver Super Iridium
Brush:  Semogue SOC
Soap:  Mike's Natural Soap (Lime)

If you have not tried the Polsilver Super Iridium....I highly recommend these blades.  It is a very sharp , non-forgiving, and smooth blade.  You will not be disappointed.  It is a great performer.

I hope your safety razor shaves are BBS and I look forward to hearing and seeing (you know I love pics) your SOTD posts.  Happy shaves to all.

My Monday evening shave, but no pictures sadly:

Head and face in shower.
Razor: 37C slant
Blade: Perma-sharp
Cream: Godrej
Brush: Enormous No.1 shavebrush from bestshave.net.  This thing is huge!!

For dessert there was witch hazel, followed by Razorock wax.

@Warhawk Great pics Mel!

@Bluebriz:  Brian...how do you like the Perma-Sharp blade?  How do you compare it to Astra SP and Feather?  Also... describe the RazoRock aftershave wax.  I know RazoRock are great products but I have never tried an aftershave wax.  I have tried an aftershave splash, lotion, and balm but never wax.  Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing your response.

@warhawk Mel, it felt smoother on my head than face, but it's the first time I've used them.  I got a 100 of them and 100 Rapiras.  I've heard good things about them both.  I'll have a better idea after a few shaves and a few blades have been tested!

Oh, the aftershave wax isn't that different to a good balm, but a little goes a long way.  I can mainly smell patchouli, but SWMBO smells lavender mainly.  There are different types available, but mine is just the original type!

ok @warhawk has been suggesting I post in here. So here's my first SOTD post. I still don't have the complete setup.

Razor : RazoRock Mirrored Pole II Three Piece

Blade : Lord Platinum (still want to try some others)

Aftershave: Nivea Post Shave Balm (I love the smell)

@ MattD:  Matt... that is a sharp looking DE razor from the Italianbarber.com.  I have heard several good reviews of this razor and that price cannot be beat.  Hope your DE shaves are going well.  If you have any questions PM me or post up a question and we will do the best we can so that your DE journey will be a success.

Btw...that is a nice pic of your SOTD.  So...  let us know what type of brush and cream/soap that you plan on adding to your safety razor routine.
