Nope, you've got a great shine. Why hide it?

Why is this a question?  It's what you like that counts.  What "looks better" depends on whose eyeballs are scoping your dome and their takes on it.  Ignore those people and their opinions; look in the mirror and you decide.

Well, I'm a little partial to the extreme shine. But depending upon the cream that you use, can tip the scale matte or shine.

Your shine looks great.  My shine tends to matte later in the day as the hair starts to grow in. Always like to rub in some Aloe Vera gel to amplify the shine.

Man maybe you try the matte look for awhile, in that way you can really decide which is better looking for you... You have all the time in the world to decide. However shiny or matte, they both look great in you man!!! O0

I agree that you should give the matte look and try and decide what YOU like better.
I personally would rather not have extreme shine.

The shine looks great on you. You should try some matte to see how you like it. 8)

I tried the glossy head cream from Head Blade. Wow is this stuff shiny!  I better not show Bob. He'll be convinced that I've turned into a lighthouse!  ( he's a major joker).

I like the shine.

I'm finding that I like the Matte look in the summer and the Shiny look in the Winter.

Stick with shiny.

To begin with, I preferred matte. But last few days been experimenting with the shiny look, which I really like. It sort of makes you look even balder, if you know what I mean.

Both are great looks.  I started with matte, but have been using Headblade Glossy Lube for last several months.  I like seeing the shine reflected in windows as I walk along outside.   :)

Today's shave turned out extra smooth.  Thus the shine is extra shiny.  Wow, I can't stop rubbing my head this morning.

For those guys who prefer a shiny head, I think I have stumbled upon one of the best shaving systems ever.

If you don't already have one, I suggest picking up a badger hair shaving brush. I bought a $15 Tweezerman brush off of eBay and it does an incredible job. Then you should stay on eBay and purchase any scent of shaving cream that you like from Taylor of Old Bond Street (often abbreviated TOBS). I can't even begin to describe how great my head and face both feel after shaving these days. It's only been a few days since I started using the TOBS cream but I can already say it wipes the floor with any shaving cream out of a can I ever used.

My head gets shiny without me having to do anything else to it. The TOBS cream is very hydrating and moisturizing. All you have to do is soak your brush in hot water for 2 minutes, put a fingernail sized portion of the TOBS cream in a bowl, whip it into a lather while adding just a bit more hot water as you go, then massage the cream on to your face and head with the brush. My shaves are ten times better than they used to be.

If you're worried about the cost of these items, don't be. The brush is 15 dollars but it will last forever and the cream is also roughly 15 bucks but it will last a full calendar year. It's a bit of an initial investment but I highly recommend it. I wouldn't suggest anyone spending money on anything if I didn't try it myself first and thoroughly enjoy it.

You know, this is starting to happen to me too. Head is starting to take on a shiny life all of its own.

As I've said elsewhere, my new staff ID photo shows the shiniest head you could imagine. The light just reflects off it on all directions. Just wish IT department would give me a copy photo !  ;)

Just like when someone asks me when I'm about to become a dad "Boy or girl?" I respond to this question "Doesn't matter as long as it's healthy". In this case, matte or shine, I say "Doesn't matter, as long as it's smooth!"

Does anyone have an answer for this one? Preferably on option for all of us living on the east side of the pond!
Just asking as I am naturally shiny, and find that the florescent lights at work really make my head beam. Want to try out a matte style for a few days if possible but don't know what to use...

I've been firmly stuck in the 'matte' contingent ... but yesterday tried 'shiny' and that was quite awesome. I feel a change of affiliation coming on ... All shine, all the time.

I actually prefer a matte look 95% of the time, but of course shiny is fun once in a while. I don't do it with that headlube gloss lotion, though. That stuff makes my head feel gross.

I am with you about the lotion. My head is naturally shiny and when I've tried the headlube to try the matte look, it just made it all nasty feeling. I sometimes use baby powder to dull down the shine from time to time

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll give some of them a try, but am actually coming round to the shiny look now.  :)
Think I was just against it because I got a negative comment about the shine from someone at work the first day after shaving for the first time.

Lately I've just been shaving. If it's sunny I then apply some suntan lotion otherwise just let it be.

To get a shiny dome, I find a close shave with my DE and generous splash of aftershave does the job. It  pulls my scalp nice and tight. Applying a moisteriser does not seem to give me a shine, in fact it makes it more matt, sometimes "oily".

Although I'm a high shine guy, by chance I've discovered a really super matte product--I mean no shine, no gleam just pure matte.  It's Banana Boat's Sport Perfomance "Clear UltraMist" 30 spf broad spectrum sunscreen.  I sprayed it on, and I went into panic mode--zip on shine as it dried :o.  Now, I don't know how long the effect lasts, but it is supposed to be reapplied every 80 minutes for water resistence.  I solved the problem topping it with Nivea Extreme Comfort and finished off with Aloe Vera gel--I had to get some shine.
So, if you're a matte kind of person, this will do the "trick!"  If it's a trick you want.  I still use it for sun protection, but I work on the shine once it dries--so far sun protection seems excellent.

The shinier the better.  I'm still working on this.  I have been buffing my head with the towel after a shower and then rubbing in some Bald Guyz Moisture gel.  This seems to work pretty well, in fact a few people have asked if I am waxing my head.
