So , I guess it goes with getting a bit older, that your memory shifts and changes on events and the past...

Case in point, ran across this old picture of me, it was 1988/89 I had just shaved my head clean for the first time that friday night, had a party to go to the next day...let me tell you i was so self conscience of the whole thing i HAD to wear a bball cap the whole time...bald wasn't taboo in the crowd I was in, but it was still weird, even with people who were cool with it...I grew it back instantly after that first shave!

I had always dug the skinned look, but at the time only true punks, skinheads and the over the top jocks dared to get the sly look, that of course changed up a lot around the mid late 90's..but for then i was real aware of it and wasn't comfortable at all!

Sometimes i forget that it took a long while to get to the true "slyness" about 10 years ago...never been happier!

P.S. Anyone recognize my friend (the blonde)...look familiar..... in anyway?

Hey, Andre.

I give you a lot of credit for even having the balls to try going sly back in '88.  I would never been able to bring myself to do that in those days.  I thought about doing it for 4 years before I finally got up the nerve to do it.

I've noticed that I've grown considerably balder over the past year or so and I have a lot less to shave on the top of the dome and the shadow on top has all but disappeared.  It occurred to me the other day that I had I waited until the top was gone to go sly (which was my original plan), I'd be shaving for the first time right about now.  I would have missed out on the past 3 1/2 years of  slyness.
