You know, I'm one of your fan on youtube before you were here.

Still hope that you can record one of your treatment lol.

I had an next treatment on last friday but an bad feeling about it. i think that they throttled the settings down because the irritations are less than after treatments before and i saw different settings on the laser-screen at like before. there was 2 settings visible the value on top was "22" (fluence) and below "12". at the treatment before i mean to saw "50" on the upper value but im not 100% sure but i have an bad feelign that i got throttled down.

if they throttle, it can be an attempt to stretch my count of needed treatments into the length and i have to pay more treatments for the same effect than with the very effective settings before. (bad method to earn money - longer time for result + additional pain and issues!)

The head looks lower irritated than after the last treatments there. Only some tiny zits and moderate redness on more haired areas but no heavy mass of zits. but the treatment was painfull too with a bit lower pain than before.

If my bad feeling get confirmed in 2-3 weeks (no or low effect), the trusting relationsship will be fully destroyed and im not longer able to go to this studio and i have to find another effective studio to complete it... normaly they have to notice every used settings by german medical laws.

Maybe it has been turned down because they realised they had set it much too high before!

The first settings are the best settings = very effective and no skin-damages after healing up the irritations. no blisters and no pain after it. if they had throttle the settings, they do it against me to get my money and stretch the amount of needed treatments. i have to get more treatments than with the correct, firstly used settings. its now day 6 after it and after day 12-13, hairloss have to start. if nothing happens or too low, it would be a proof for my theory. normaly they use more energy with higher counts of doned treatments.

if i have proofs for it i will make severe trouble there because im scamed with thripple costs: additional pain/issues, money and the psychical aspect for it. if i can prove it, they will hear from my advocat - i my head is not a playground! I want my money for throttled treatments back + pain money!

but i wait the next 2 weeks. i will see what happens or not. then i make strong trouble if nothing happens. at germany, they have to write the used settings into an "book". so in this case i would want to get it showed!

The first treatment was bungle (another way to artificially the number of necessary treatments  to the height and earn more money) The second treatments was good, but with forgetten areas too but not like the first one. The 3 rd treatment was last friday and it has lower pain and lower irritations then before and i saw an different number on the laser-screen but im not 100% sure about the case of throttle. the next 2 weeks will show me the truth about it!

The pictue shows my back head 2 days after last shave (48 h between shavings) Dark areas are forgetten.

PS: The watermark is nessessary for me to prevent stealing my content! i found many photos from me on other sites that got stolen by stupid users out of an closed forum that dont respect privacy and copyright. founded pictures are flaged by me as copyright-infringement and they got deleted instantly.

Dark areas may not be areas forgotten just that those areas were not as successful as the others!

Hey all, I visited this forum years ago (2009) while thinking about getting laser hair removal on my scalp.  I ended up doing it and it dawned on me today I should provide some details on my experience if it might help someone.  There's 65 pages on this thread and I haven't come close to reading all of them, so apologies in advance if this has been covered ad nauseam and isn't all that helpful/informative.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for me), I can't comment on price.  A friend of mine's mother has a laser hair removal place and she was nice enough to do it for me for free.  She was worried about the pain level (and also because I think it was pro bono work), so she wanted to take it slow.  We did about 12 or 13 sessions, once a month for a little over a year.

Each session took about 20 minutes.  Yes, for me it was painful, but it was generally very temporary.  Each strike of the laser was like getting jabbed with a needle, but it stopped hurting almost right away.  The soft spots (like around the temple) were must more painful than the harder parts (back and top of the head). There was a little bit of soreness afterward, but it wasn't bad at all.

Since it took about a year, there was a time period where it was a little awkward looking.  If I didn't keep up on the shaving then I would kind of get these light spots on my scalp where there was obviously less hair growing.  I'm sure I looked like a jack-o-lantern with just a bunch of quarter sized holes carved. Eventually it started to even out and I wasn't as freakish looking.

As for the results, I'm mostly happy with it.  I still have to shave, but only every other day.  I could probably go longer without anyone noticing, but by the 2nd day, the feel of the stubble bothers me too much. It really helped with that "5am shadow" problem by getting rid of most of the dark hair.  What's left now is very light colored/blond which isn't very noticeable.

I probably need to go back and have someone clean up the sideburn area in front of my ears.  There are some dark hairs there that she missed and I have to address more frequently.  Not a problem, but can be annoying that they need shaving more than the rest of the head.

I would 100% do it again given the choice over again.  I wish it was 100% removal so I didn't have to shave at all, but its much easier to shave and maintain now than it used to be.

Happy to answer any questions if anyone has any.  I did this back in 2009/2010 so my memory may be a little fuzzy on the exact details.  In hindsight, I wish I had done a photo log/journal of it for at least my own entertainment.

Glad to hear you had good results and are happy with your decision.  I opted for laser myself and have done eight treatments.  I've had similar results and really like the "shadow-free" look.  I am glad I decided to go for it.

For anyone contemplating laser, PM me if you have any questions.

Long time without an Update and the Horror comes back... The most hairs regrows since 2-3 Weeks and the strips and patches comes back. So i have stop lasering because the trusting relationship is complete destroyed. my head looks like after the first treatment with this horrible look and i have decided to tweeze my head at the future.

i cant life with this horror and there is no other way to end this without tweezing or waxing (waxing is the very last way if tweezing dont works, because waxing needes longer hairs than epilating and the count of horrible unshaved days before higher...

Lasering was the wrongest decision at my whole life and i wish to undone it... they bungle my head to horror...

Hello,

Thank you for posting. Im really debating whether to do laser hair removal or micro scalp pigmentation. My problem is that I pretty much have a full of hair. I only shave because my hairline a mess. However, You can still see it because im light skinned. I mostly wear hats except where I cant.

My big concern with scalp pigmentation is what if I dont like it, it's horrible to try to undo. I love the bald look and would love to be clean shaven without having to shave. My concern with the laser is that I have seen some nightmares as well. How will I look in between treatments? Will I look worse? This also flies into my head.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have very dark course hair as well.

Thank you in advance.

hello everybody.

i started my laser epilation treatment.

after first procedure, the effect was only at the top of the head (mbp area), and over the ears a little bit. it burned only the weakest hairs, maybe their follicules are located on the minor depth then the others. we tried to increase the power, but still no effect.

based on the information i found on enternet, i think the laser we used cant go deeper then 4mm in depth and thats why it doesnt burn follicules (they are located on the 5-6mm depth).

my treatment was done by Alexandrite laser (Candela GentleLase) on 25, 30 and 35 J/cm2 power.

can somebody recommend me which laser type should I use and what power to set? maybe diode laser or neodymium Nd:YAG laser?

yes, i would like to ask the specialist in our cosmetology centers or clinics, but no one of them never did laser epilation on the scalp and they can t help me with that. they only say "well. lets try this, lets try ".

help me please. my head looks verry terrifying for 3 month long, and i worry of staying with this look forever

sorry for bad english. and thanks for your help.

I think you just need more treatments.  I'll post some pictures in a couple of weeks, but I started out just like that.  I just finished my 4th treatment, and the edges keep recedind a little more with each treatment.  It's happening slowly, but it is working.  If you read through this entire thread, you'll see that it's common for people with really thick hair to need 8 - 12 full treatments.

thank you for reply. i just started to read the topic.

hmmm. i thought each single hair can be only burned or not burned at all during the procedure, no any medium state.

still will appreciate the info from the guys succeded with their laser treatment : what laser had your doctor used?

in case if I couldnt find that info on the topics pages.
sorry for my bad english

My understanding is that there are a few factors
-Only hair in an active growth stage can be permanently removed via laser.  Not every single hair is in the same growth stage at any given time, so you'll never get complete removal with only a single treatment.
-With extremely thick hair, it can take multiple sessoions to thin the hair down to the point where the follicle is effectively lasered as well.
-In a single session, it's impossible for the laser tech to hit every single follicle on your head, so some will inevitably be missed.

I'm sure there's more, but just those 3 items alone would require multiple treatments.

Ask about touch up sessions about 2 weeks following your actual treatment.  Because my hair is responding so slowly (like yours) my laser tech just has me come in for "touch up" treatments where she hits all of the areas that haven't fully responded yet.
