Title: Philips Norelco Oneblade electric trimmer
Post by: rico on December 01, 2016, 05:43:52 PM
I have tried this new gadget for maintaining my shaved head look. It looks like a blade razor on a thick handle.  It works quite well.  But I would never use it as some have on youtube for for a head shave from a full head of hair.  In those videos, it does a surprisingly good job.

I was motivated to find a new tool after I tried various blades:  Mach 3, Fusion, etc. -- even a DE razor -- after my hair had grown out too much. A very difficult shave, slow with lots of cuts. I should used barber clippers or frankly, a barber.

Has anyone else used the new Oneblade?

I read it and felt that it was very useful too. Knowledge is very good yet.

Its a cool device. I havent tried it myself, as the replacement blades cost too much and each blade system supposedly lasts 32 shaves, which isnt much when you shave every day like most of us here do.

Theyre advertised to last 2 shaves per week for 4 months.

Replacement blades are 15 for one, 25 for two.

Whole device costs $35.....

Red flags going up everywhere for me.

Id just as soon be happy with my 57 Dorco Pace 4 cartridges and three different Dorco handles for under $50 over holiday sale shopping the Dorco website where everything is quite frequently 50% off entire order.

If the oneblade offered better longevity and price/performance, i might have considered it.
