Hey folks. I'm curious what kind of car everybody drives.
My blue monster is called Florence. 2004 Mazda6S GT V6. 5-speed manual.
Comes with:
Climate Control
Sunroof
Sport Bucket Seats
Leather Steering wheel
6-disc cd player
17" wheels
power everything
Bose speakers (Yuck)
Here are some of the things I've done to it cuz showroom stock isn't my style. :P
Cams
Ported Heads
Headers
Cold Air Intake
Forged Pistons
Forged Rods
Upgraded Bearings
Upgraded Crank
Catless Exhaust
Center-stack Gauges
Lowering Springs
Sway Bars
New Clutch
New Flywheel
Underdrive Pullies
Eminence Speakers to replace the Bose
Short Throw Shifter
Its a fun little beast. I dropped some cash into it, but I'll never sell it, so no risk of losing the investment. That new motor is good for another 300k miles. :D

Like minds. I posted a thread about about what everyone drives a few months ago.
I have a 2010 Ford Fusion - It's not a "totally" normal looking Fusion. During the final stages of assembly, they take 2 out of every 150 and put what they call the Apperiance package on them. My grill matches the paint, not chrome, it has low profile tires and 18" wheels. the interior is heavier duty cloth and white piping and stitching. I LOVE it. I have had it 13 months and have 7.700 miles on it now. I will NEVER sell it, since I am 42 it might be my last car ever.
I named it "Felix" because Felix means fortunate and lucky, which I feel I am. I won't do anything to it. I have SYNC voice activated phone and text messaging and audio controls with navigation. I will never modify a car again. I had a 1999 Toyota pick up and I did a ton of tricking out of it, $2,500 stereo and wheels and tires, then a week later it was stolen, I hadn't reported the mod's to my insurance so I lost my arse. NEVER again. I love the way Felix is stock. I get that. My friend owns my insurance agency, so we could fix it if something like that happened. What motor does that have?
-
in the Summer I'm on a 2005 BMW R1150R "Rockster"
in the Winter I'm in a 1995 Jaguar VandenPlas (seen in the background)
The Jag keeps me busy. She's needy!

Beemers are nice bikes. I used to have a Duke 907ie but laid it down. I had a couple scratches, but the bike was toast. Wouldn't mind getting an older Beemer for a summer ride.

This is my 2004 BMW 330xi, SlyRed. It's pretty much stock except for the wider wheels, drilled brake rotors and Bilstein shocks/struts.

Well I don't know how to post a pic to this thread but I drive a 2003 Dodge Viper Convertible
-
I have the use of a Chevy Volt for a couple of days (my company is testing them for possible use for our fleet). It drives well and you don't realize it's an electric car. Sizewise, it's pretty small inside. I adjusted the driver's seat for myself and the back seat has almost no leg room.
So, while it drives well and is really high tech, I'd have a hard time springing for one given its size and price ($40,000 before the tax credit)!
-
I also have a 2010 Hemi Charger R/T & a 2006 Ram 1500 Pick Up Truck
-
If I didn't know better, I'd say you were a Mopar fan. :P I've spent the summer in a 1991 Dodge Shadow Convertible ES Turbo-II. Minus the automatic transmission and the fact it isn't running right, all is good.
-
Na, he's just Horny.
-
Lol thatsa good one I've been a Mopar Man since I was 18 & bought a new 1969 Roadrunner. How do you post pics to this topic
-
I can't post pictures either. Dumb Arse I guess? I drive a 2008 Ford Escape. Good mechanical but rather cheap on the interior and I have the upscale Limited. Also have a Harley V-Rod. Can't ride too much as the weather here has been over !00 degress for over 17 days now.

I drive a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. I love it and it is a great car and very comfortable. I am tall so it works well for me. I really like the high backs on the seats which is great for the back. It Also gets pretty decent gas mileage. My son drives a 2005 Dodge Ram and it gets terrible mileage. I debated whether to buy a truck or another mini van the last time I bought a car. I am so glad that I decided on a minivan.

My weekend toy- 1967 Chevy C10 Stepside pickup- 3-speed, 250cid inline-6, wood bed. I'm doing a restoration on it little by little- looking for a NOS hood. It was my wife's grandfather's truck, he bought it used in 1970.

2006 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab
2000 Chevrolet Cavalier
I pretty much flip a coin as to which I drive for short trips....for longer trips, the Colorado wins hands down...I do have at the time of this post about 330,000 combined miles between the two
My favorite all-time...My 1980 Chevrolet Caprice Classic (God, the memories and the "firsts" I had with that car). Retired it at 272,000 miles in 1998. Drove a Ford Granada for two years prior to buying the Cavalier (what a POS that was :Xo!)
-
I drive a 2001 Silver Corvette and I ride a 2004 HD black and white Road King (retired police interceptor)....either one, rain or shine.
-
A 2007 Kia Sportage. I call it my "dog car." Traded a 4WD six-speed Toyota Tacoma Access cab for it. Now I miss my truck, but being on a pension isn't conducive to car buying. :'(
-
When the ex stole my 2001 Nisan Xterra (long, sad story) I treated myself to a gently used 2002 BMW 325i. I LOVE that car! and the GF loves it too so that makes it even better.
-
Here is what we drive. The orange one is a 2012 crush clear Sahara Unlimited. The black one is a 1992 YJ and then there's the Saturn...

OK, I'll bite ... what's the "rest of the story" about the black one?
-
It's not that heavily modified or anything just a few small smart mods. 3 inches of lift to start so the 31X10.5 all terrain tires don't rub. Then I fabricated and installed my own buggy springs in the rear. That's it. In this picture my right front tire is about 2 feet off the ground.
-
2008 Ultra Classic
-
2005 Mazda 3 s - "Winning Blue". Been my daily driver since I bought it new in Sept. 2005. Zero major issues. I'll most likely drive it into the ground. I was gonna trade it in for something new for my wife and the baby, but 2 accidents in the last year and a half (thankfully neither of which was my fault) have left it worth less than it should be.
I'm very happy with it. Gas mileage could be better, but that's a minor complaint. Been meaning to replace the stock stereo, as I'd kill for an aux input, but I haven't had the extra funds or time to spend on the upgrade. Soon enough, though...

I've done a lot of things to this truck from minor to major. It was funny because I found one in a parking lot the other day with identical factory features. Literally identical meaning down to even the specific font used in the design on the decals. It was fun looking at it because it was like a time capsule and showed off stuff I had changed and forgot about. Most of the big changes are inside the cab where I've touched just about everything and some things I even reshaped with bondo and fiberglass resin.

Can any of you drive with the stick?
Learned to drive a stick, Austin Healey, also a VW Beetle with a stick. My Father's Jeep was stick too. Yes, lots of us
"Colonials" can drive with a stick. Only problem I have had with a stick shift has been driving in the UK with the damn thing on the wrong side so I had to do it left handed! ;D But "wrong" side also was an issue with the Norton motorcycle or so I've been told--I had a Triumph as my first motorcycle.
-
You Americans don't half drive some gigantic cars! Lol. Can any of you drive with the stick? That is all we have here.
Blanket statements are rarely accurate, BBCMark.
I drive a 1994 Toyota 4Runner, SR5 V-6, 212k miles on it...5 Speed, manual transmission.
Does it lack certain ammenities? Yes.
Do I love it? Yes.
Is it in pristine condition? Yes.
Is it paid for? Yes.
Do I plan to keep it for a long, long time? Yes
Does the Lovely Mrs. Schro have a new Chevrolet Traverse with all the bells & whistles? Yes.
FYI, she can also drive a stick (any sexual innuendos relating to TLMS are not recommended).
-
2002 Saturn L200 and I am about to hit 100,000 miles!
-
Can any of you drive with the stick?
No, Mr. High & Mighty, but I'd really like to learn. Never had the opportunity to do so. My dad always had automatics around. One day, I'll buy a beater with a manual trans and learn on that. One of my life's goals. O0

LOL I hope I survive these vehicles by a few decades - though the Expedition is SOLID. Thanks :)
And for the record, I had 5 cars prior to the expedition, and they were all stick shifts O0 My first car was a VW Jetta w/ 125k miles, I drove it to 175k miles and totalled it... The last one was a BMW 335i.
There is just something comforting about having your family in a 6000 lb cement block with air bags, while others drive around texting and emailing from their driver's seat.
-
My new Jeep is the first automatic I have ever owned. I taught myself how to drive standard in my 71' VW beetle which was my first car and also one of my most favorite cars that I have owned. Want to get another one someday and hotrod it.

2005 Hyundai Sante Fe and an old Corolla to save gas mileage (when I need it.) I also have an Altima.

Last time I answered this question on this forum; I had a 2006 Mazda 6S V6. I have since sold that and replaced it with a 2006 Toyota RAV4. I needed 4 wheel drive and bike hauling capacity. It suits me well.
-
Our "family car" is a 2012 Dodge Journey AWD RT. My current back and fourth to work car is an old 1997 Chrysler Concorde Lxi. I plan on replacing it soon with a Pickup Truck. I miss owning a truck. I hate borrowing or renting a truck every time I have to do projects around the house. With a new home, there will be plenty of need for a truck because I will be doing much landscaping etc...my self.
-
Drive a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab 4 WD- all black - purchased it last May- it is the end of that model run but I like the boxy lines rather than the rounded lines of many trucks today. Can't beat a Chevy Truck

My toy is a 1990 Miata that is a dedicated track car. This pic was taken at Summit Point. I've since gotten a trailer to tow the car as it is a brutal ride to/from the track. Gutted (loud) interior, full Spec Miata suspension and race seats are not conducive to a 46 year old driving 3-10 hours to the track. I will start to pull it in the spring with my former DD, a '98 F150 (guess the color).

Giving your vehicles guys names must be a "down under" thing ;D ;D Here in America we give our vehicles (as well as our guns) girls names. My truck is named Francesca, my car is named Lucinda, and just for kicks, my gun is named Renee' ;D ;D

How things change. Last April a tornado went down my street and took most of my house and the contents. While it left my car and my bike, it left them in pieces; I found one of two BMW opposing heads in a neighbors pool. Spring forward, new house-it had to be torn down and rebuilt from the basement up and also new transportation. During the interval that the insurance company was feeding, watering and lodging me-Thank You Marriott!-they also provided a car. That's when I found Enterprise Car Rental and the friendly guys there. They called around and got a Jeep Liberty that accommodated my height and was actually comfortable to drive. I still have it although I'm offered a newer, 2013 version. Of course I'm now paying for it-Chubb's lagesse wouldn't go on forever-but if it's not an economy measure there are advantages. If I'm gone for a few days or weeks, I turn it in and get a new one when I return. I pay no lease, no payments, no down payments, they handle all the routine maintenance and even provide me with a membership in AAA. It's about $820.00 per month which, as I said is no economy but then think of what I'm not paying.I had the insurance built in my homeowner's policy and, because of discounts etc, that costs about $125.00 per month. Gas is currently about $2.98 a gallon and I'd have to pay that with whatever I had. The current iteration is navy blue-Ol' Gray got mashed in a parking lot-and I don't call it anything. Although I've now had it to the point that, were I to return it on a full time basis I'd feel vaguely sad, like parting from an old girl friend; It never was going anywhere but there was still all that history...
This may seem really stupid but...my accountant gave me the happy news that almost all of what I pay is deductible. Also, and whenever I want, I can "test drive" anything they have in their fleet. Iinitially I'd thought about doing that to "find" a new car. And there's this, in the not too distant future the local PD and the Highway Patrol aren't going to have any used Crown Vics with the Interceptor engine to sell. For the ultimate in comfort and long distance driving, you really can't do much better. (The Jeep has one almost fatal flaw-here in Kansas the short wheel base, high profile makes it tricky to drive in very high winds which are a constant of life here. Anything above 30 to 40 mph, and straight from the Souith or the North and I have to cling to the wheel like grim death. Speeds are very high on our local expressways so this becomes a serious considertation. Also, being passed by an eighteen wheeler doing 80 creates a number of vortices that would fascinate aeronautical engineers. It's actually easier to handle this configuration on my bike.)
It occurs to me that some may find my insurance very inexpensive. That's because I don't own the car, they're insuring only liability and some collision, a thing already psrtly covered by my household insurance. I also have other insurance policies wth the carrier and that, too, was factored into the price. As to the low gas....just lucky I guess, as recently as five months ago it was $3.99....
And-lengthily-that's what I drive and why......

We have had many Jeeps and many Cadillacs - - -over the years - -This is my 4th Red Cadillac - -the others were dark blue - -

I drive a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. I like the high seat backs and the leg room. I also like the large storage space in the back.

Giving your vehicles guys names must be a "down under" thing
I don't think it is, I just did it because everyone else gives them girls names, and it just doesn't seem like a girl car... I would never hurt a woman, but sometimes I push Dave pretty hard and don't have to feel bad about it!
-
"girl names" must be a regional thing.
-
Cadillac called "Cash"
-
I don't have a name for my Ford Courier, but it just wouldn't seem fitting to call it a girls name... now I think about it, Bruce might be a very fitting name for my ute.
-
Do it! Bruce is a good name for anything!

Back in October we bought a brand new 2012 Ford F-150 Super Crew XLT. It's beautiful, comfortable, and drives thru snow with no problem. It also has a V6 twin turbo that gets better gas mileage AND hauls way better than my old truck with a V8.
-
Do you miss the wonderful v8 rumble?
-
I love the sound of a beefy v8 truck. I've always wanted an F-series truck personally, along with a Land Rover Defender, and a Landcruiser 4x4 Ute lol, I don't ask for much...
-
I've heard of a Seat before, know absolutely nothing about them though! Interesting looking design though

I drive a dark blue 2002 Saturn L200. I just ticked over 100,000 on the odometer a few month back and it is paid off. I'll be driving it until the wheels fall off because no one can beat my payments! :*))
They sure don't make them like this any more. If Saturn were still around I would certainly go back to them when the time comes to replace it.

Back in October I bought a new but leftover 2012 SuperCrew with the Ecoboost. Outstanding truck.

This is the first Ford I've bought in 30 years. I had been driving Hemi Rams but Ford gave me quite a bit better deal this go around. The first couple of weeks I wanted to take it back but now that it is getting broke in the mileage is getting alot better and the power seems to be decent. It's taken some getting used to but I think I'm going to like it.

1996 Jeep Cheokee. Old, boring, ugly..................we're a perfect fit.

Aw, Boxman! Don't say that about yourself! ;)
I have a 1998 Infiniti QX4 parked at my mom's house, since I drive approximately never in NYC. I use it when not in the city. It's a great car, incredibly reliable, and still in perfect condition (save a few paint scritches) 15 years later. My family bought it outright and I got it when my mom got her new Durango, but she "steals" my car all the time! I think it's just easier/more pleasant to drive.
My dad was a car freak. When he died we sold his late model Jaguar XK Special Edition (don't recall which precisely), a 1988 Corvette and a 1968 Mustang Shelby in full working order. I was as jealous of the attention he showed those cars growing up as some of my friends were jealous of their siblings. He LOVED his cars.
One day about a year after I got my driving license my dad handed me the keys to his XK and told me he trusted me to drive it. I was so scared I went about .25 blocks to the cul-de-sac on our road, turned around, went straight home, and never touched one of his cars again. ;D
-
Hey Bella interesting post and that was quite the collection of autos :)
-
Yeah it was quite an array. Luckily we lived in the midwest where garages and driveways are ample! We had a 3 car garage and a driveway about 1/5 of a mile long.
The Jaguar was his "official" car and from a dealer, as was my eventual Infiniti and my mom's Dodges (she drove a Caravan before the Durango came out) but the Corvette and the Mustang were hobby jobs he took in and restored himself. He was so into working on his babies that my mom put a phone line into the garage in case she needed to tell him to come home and be with his non-steel family. ;D
He worked in the American automotive insurance industry which is why I think I got the Infiniti. JD Power rated my vehicle the best of it's year in something or another and my dad really wanted it, but his 3 primary clients were Ford, GM and Chrysler. So best to pass that Japanese thang onto your errant daughter--worked for me ;D Cannot have you or your wife turn up to a function in a Japanese car!

Pretty much a Euro guy here. I have TWO 2-car garages and 4 rides. All German.
I love to detail my cars in between the "REAL" details they get from the pros, so I turned one of my garages into a detail space. (Video link at the bottom of the post.)

Between my wife, myself, and two commuting college students (soon to be three), we share the following four vehicles:
2004 Chevrolet Srburban
2008 Honda CRV
2011 Ford F-150 Crew Cab V-6
2013 Nissan Versa Sedan
Believe it or not, the little Versa is the most fun to drive.
The most exciting cars in my history are a 1977 Chevy Camaro, and a 1983 Datsun (Nissan) Maxima

I'd like a Harley, but where I live...I just don't think it is a wise decision. The freeways here are just too crazy for a bike.

Okay, so I got to ask, why two of the exact same car only different colors? Number two question is are you single? One of my best friends from high school is an absolute BMW fanatic. He has a boyfriend but I don't think it's that serious, LOL where do you live that Harley would not be practical?
Can you tell us what year/model your cars are? Looks like 3 BMW's and a beetle. NICE collection, all you are missing is some Milwaukee steel - a Harley. Your BMW convertible is one of. Y top 5 dream cars.
I'd like a Harley, but where I live...I just don't think it is a wise decision. The freeways here are just too crazy for a bike.

Hino FB1817 - She may not have the greatest acceleration but she's big and powerful; she can pull any of the yuppie 4 wheel drives out of the ditch when their owners forget that they have no more braking than anybody else on ice - at least twice a winter.

Being in the poor uk economy I had to sell me Harley Nightrod to help pay my mortgage and buy a 15 year old Yamaha 600 fazer which is currently broken in the garage. The front chain sprocket came off and took the gearbox output shaft with it. Probably uneconomical to repair as the bike is worth £700 and the estimate for gearbox rebuild is £700. Time for a new cheapie.
My daily car is an 13 year old Alfa Romeo 147. 2.0. Lusso.
When it all comes together though the Alfa is a great drive. Sweet engine which has two spark plus per cylinder and has a sweet italian rasp.
It's just a pity it feels like its built from soggy cardboard.
I love the American muscle cars but with petrol currently at nearly £7.00 a gallon which is probably near $10 not very practical her in the uk.

There's a BMW 1200RS lovingly and longingly up on blocks in my garage. MS took away my balance although with a Beemer that's almost unnecessary. Other than that there's a Ford 250 Crew Cab and a Benz SUV of some model or another. I prefer large, tall vehicles to match my 2 meters. Decades ago in Sydney a buddy gave me a frighteningly fast tour of the city in his Lotus. I don't remember much save for having to go to a panel beaters to extract me......

Oh, I forgot to report in that I had traded in my Miata. I loved that car, but was getting forced off the roads too often for my taste, so I've moved onto a beefier car. Still a convertible -- I'm a rag-top man!

Sweet ride slybear, my brother just bought a new BOSS 302. It's super fast, but I'll stick with my old pony, although it's stored for the Minnesota deep freeze!
-
Nice, reddog! My first car was a 64 1/2 Mustang and I've always had a sweet spot for them.
In fact, the grill pony from that 64 1/2 is mounted on the inside of my trunk lid. (I junked the car when its lifetime was up, but kept the grill.)
-
-- I'm a rag-top man!
You certainly have the haircut for it!
I'm a ragtop man too!
-
Everyday a GMC Denali but for special occasions, a lovingly cared for Ford Crown Victoria LX with an Interceptor engine. If Ford still made Crown Vics there would be no GMC for me.....
-
My daily is an '03 Red Mustang Mach 1. I also ride an '91 Harley Davidson Softail Custom. The Mustang needs some work right now so I've been riding daily to and from work and everywhere in between! Not necessarily a bad thing.
-
Sweet Mach1, DOC! Looks like you've kept it in really good condition. What work are you doing to it? Are you the original owner?
-
Nothing exciting, I drive a 2013 Kia Soul. I love it. I had a 2007 Mini Cooper convertible for a while, but the maintanence ended up being just too expensive.
-
Sweet Mach1, DOC! Looks like you've kept it in really good condition. What work are you doing to it? Are you the original owner?
Thanks SlyBeard! I've tried to keep in in good condition, and I am the original owner. The engine is stock since it's my daily driver, but down the line I'd like to do some engine mods. When I first got it I did upgrade the exhaust with a full Magnaflow Catback system, so it's got a really good sound to it, and it did add some umph. Lowered, tinted windows, and some chrome and brushed aluminum interior accessories to give it add to the look.
-
2009 Hyundai Accent. It has a manual transmission, which I really enjoy. It also is about the last car left to have hand-cranked windows. I have this phobia about power windows (you know, the frequent occurrence of plunging into a body of deep water, short-circuited, unable to open the windows, therefore unable to open the door because of outward pressure of the water--okay, I'm neurotic that way!). The salesman apologized for not having power windows, but I was quite happy. I still miss my Ford Festiva, which got GREAT gas mileage. The accent, mileage is about as good as it gets without having a hybrid, which I couldn't afford. I don't want to make OPEC rich!
-
Still have my 2003 Dodge Viper & 2006 RAM 1500 Pickup

2014 Honda Accord EX-L...it's my 5th Honda.
I love Hondas so much I started working for Honda.

Yesterday, 14 March, I took a step back and accepted delivery of not one, but two Ford Crown Victorias. They've been road tested and approved for me by the Kansas Highway patrol who put that first 70,000 miles on them so any flaws or necessary tightening have been worked out. The BIG Interceptor engine, cloth seats, place for a shot gun, radios, etc. Even though I offered money if they'd let me keep them, the light bar on to and the cage inside were removed. I was allowed to have the spot light and, although it's there, the siren has been disconnected. BIG interior, just right for long legs. (To give you an idea about long legs, I have a pair of custom made Wesco Engineer boots that I used to ride my BMW 1200. They are 22" inches high and do not reach my knee....) I suppose the delivery paint job will have to be redone-they just had their paint bay spray out any spaces and markings that would connect it to the Patrol. As to naming, One is Tattoo, the other is DILLIGAF. I hope these are the last cars I will ever have to buy but, to dress up my bet, I've found a guy in Oklahoma who but out the remaining Crown Vics at dealers, has they stored in a former airplane hangar and watches the price for each one sold go up as the years past cessation of manufacture disappear over the horizon. So, in a pinch....I know where to go although by then what he might ask for "clean machine" might make buying a Bentley a better bargain.....

I commute 25,000 miles a year and put on another 10,000 miles a year going places so my daily drive is a 2006 Chevy Cobalt with 161,000 miles. I bought it used about five years ago with only 6,000 miles on it. I plan on driving it until one of us dies!
I also have a 2007 Miata Retractable hardtop. I have always owned a convertible - those hardtop cars are just a passing fad. They will never catch on! When I finally get to talke the Miata out of storage I am afraid that I will regret going sly. I have always loved the feeling of the wind tearing through my flattop!
I also just purchased a 2003 100th anniversary edition Harley Davidson Road King Classic. I won't ride it until I have taken the rider safety course.
-
I just picked up a Black 1972 Ford F100 Ranger XLT. The previous owner was a bit of an autorat so the engine (Edelbrock 302 V8) and transmission are less than a year old!
It's got a little rust at the bottom corner of the doors, but clean otherwise. It's the "styleside" short bed package. I'm planning to redo the interior as I'm able and it's missing the molding down the sides, but that's all stuff that be done as time/money allows.
It's nice to have something that I can work on at home, without needing to hook it up to a computer to repair.

Thought I would repost my hotrod, make it a classic car day. Love the Buick!

Nice Stang. Was close to getting a '67 when I found my GS. The original motor really sold me and these older straight body lines look better than the rounded late 60's early 70's style.

The Magna is my preferred drive having modified it from stock over a couple of years and 75,000 miles, but have recently handed the keys to my wife in favour of the Camry due to the lower mileage.
The Pulsar is my wife's old car which we keep as a backup.

Unfortunately AND fortunately my company (The HeadShavers Club) was growing pretty fast right around the time I was enjoying my motorcycle. That coupled with having a family/kids took precedence and I was forced to give it up. However, with the kids being older now and having a great group of people to work with, who pretty much run the company for me ... I am now in a position to ride again. I used to have a GSXR600, CBR600, GSXR750, and GSXR1000. Now, I would LIKE to have either a Campagna T-Rex (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sy7bEzD06GA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sy7bEzD06GA)) OR a Polaris Slingshot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGtB3B-Gikc (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGtB3B-Gikc)). Gotta start saving up now. Been wanting one of these for a long time and I am determined to get one. :)

TheHeadshaver, get a Harley. Those are not motorcycles. They have steering wheels, you're not riding, you're driving.

got a 98 Camry great on gas... and something not so great on gas, even with the practically base 283 motor

I'm a mechanic who gets to drive a mixture of really nice cars, and not so nice. But for myself I drive a beat up 15 year old Hyundai Excel (I think in USA these were labeled generation 1 Accent) It's just so practical I can throw anything in the back without worrying. My toys that get more spent on them are my road bike and fixie commuter bike, these are bike with pedals not motor, my road bike rims cost more than my car, and the frame is the Orica Greenedge paint job

I drive a pretty boring car compared to what i see some of you drive. Its a toyota corolla, fully loaded yes, so i enjoy it, but if only i could afford it, i would have the corolla for day to day driving, and an older convertible muscle car of some sort, preferably a early mustang, or a 71 'cuda for when i go someplace i want to be noticed.
-
Gave up all the expensive toys in America. Now, looking at buying another car.
What do you guys think?
Citroën C1/Toyota Ayego (open top), or Kia Picanto?
-
OK... those were ALL too frickin' small!
Went with this, instead!
3.6 ltr/100km (65mpg).

I had an amazing Infiniti QX4, 1998 model. My father bought it right before he died, and I got to drive it to school once or twice. It had maybe 10,000 miles on it when I finally inherited it as an adult.
My husband was driving to the drug store, stopped at a new stoplight, and got rear-ended by a guy who was texting and didn't realize the new light had been installed. He was going 50 mph. My husband thankfully was okay after a concussion, but the car was scrap.
Now I have a Volvo V90. It's a nice ride, and it's nice having the third row since we're planning on kids, but the 4WD is a disaster. Our driveway is on a slight slope so that to exit you have to go uphill (VERY minor!) and my husband tried to get up with normal acceleration, then failed. Then he gunned it to get up once, slid back, and rear ended our damn house. Generally Volvo is a good manufacturer but this one I think is a bit iffy. We lost a brake light and have a little dark blue blemish on our siding (there was a ton of snow and hedges between them, thankfully). We've taken it to four mechanics to fix and no dice.

Since I posted this I have replaced that car with two more interesting models. I currently drive an 08 subaru legacy, and also own an 06 Honda civic couple, which my partner drives. Both are in excellent condition, other than the Honda suffers from bad paintwork
